VHT/Fryette amps - best high gain tones....ever?

Interesting...the P50e speakers against some others I have are not my favorite, but the cab and speaker combo in general is as tight as any of the other three cabs I have...K100 2x12, greenback 412, Fane90 412. The tone is a bit scooped compared to the others but it's as tight or tighter than the others and same as far as how it projects in the room, same as all the others.

Might have been the worst cab I've ever played through. Just garbage. Calling it a mess is a compliment. I'd bet the speakers were worn out...I've never liked Eminence anything, though.

Spot on... those P50Es are garbage. I also haven't gotten along with any other Eminence speaker I've owned though.
 
Had a other former band mate over yesterday and gave him the blind test of the four different 4x12 cabs....same results as last person. He much preferred the Deliverance 4x12 cab with P50E over the others with Celestion speakers.

I have noticed the more I do this different amps sound very different with the various cabs. One amp will make a certain cab sound much brighter. Use a different amp and get completely different results.
Seems the entire chain is much more important than any single part.
 
Always enjoyed my Deliverance 120 with gold lion KT88



Loved the dynamic response. Amp gave off a great woody chunk. Still one of my favorites.


It was a VHT label.

Probably pick another one up some day.
