Is the SigX still a thing? I owned one for like a quick minute back when and honestly wasn’t blown away with the amp at all. I much preferred my CL100 and MKV to it… I mean it got me a Les Paul in a trade.

I've only ever played one that one of my best friends briefly owned....it was a good sounding amp no doubt but to me it kinda seemed like a little bit of all the Fryette sounds lumped together in one amp and then watered down

Something about it just seemed "less than" but then again like I said that's my anecdotal experience with one single amp so YMMV

They certainly don't seem to be as popular as the others

It gets all the different levels and in betweens of Gain. I like a mid gain sound that still feels good under the fingers' The Mark V Crunch is rubbery feeling. Way more controllable at home compared to a Deliverance.. Good for recording.

You can get the sound of a Deliverance on a recording with a Sig.

I had one, didn’t care for it. Very dry sounding. Like a hiwatt marshall combined.

I certainly would love one. I’ve loved every Fryette product I’ve owned. Shoot, I’d consider trading my archon 100 for one.

I had one for a bit and couldn't really jive with it. I loved the clean channel as more of a Plexi sound, but the high gain was like a tease. It was almost awesome but not quite there, no no matter what I did. Traded it for a Bogner 101b, which I will never get rid of, so it all worked out :p

Still a thing as in still being produced? No, not for quite a few years now. Your best bet at getting Fryette tones these days is with Synergy modules.

I'd say you didn't spend enough time with it. It did the tried and true VHT thing very well.

I loved my Classic and Deliverence 60 and 120 and hated the SigX. My least fave of all VHT amps.

I picked up a used one at GC (pre-Covid prices) for $800 and had it about a year. I liked that it was different and it sounded good, but so dry. I preferred everything else I had so I traded it away.

Love your style dude! Like how you do those little palm muted legato licks, or however to describe it. 🤘🤘

Steve not too long ago mentioned a reissue of the Sig X on Malcontents. He feels there is nothing more he can do with it. It is complete as is. He spent ten years developing the Sig X before it was released. I hear it as part Hiwatt, Marshall, Mesa Mark series and Deliverance. It gets more saturated and more forgiving feel than any of the Fryette amps. The feel of the lead channel is more like a Mark series than a Pittbull. The lead and rhythm channel preamp is based off the channels on the Pittbull amps. The three way voicing switches are basically the different eras of the Pittbull input filtering. The clean channel can do the vintage Hiwatt thing. But saturates and overdrives much sooner. The power amp is based off the 2/90/2. The poweramp of the UL is based off the 2150.

Currently I am using mine with a VFE Standout, DOD Carcosa and Fortin Zuul+ in front. Ibanez PTEQ in the loop. It is a extremely versatile rig.

I had one for a little bit and always regretted selling it. It had headroom for days and days. I thought it did a really good EVH plexi sound, plus the clean channel was awesome! I’d love to see a Synergy version tbh. Very cool amp.

Same here.
I loved the rhythm channel and its sheer versatility, but the clean was too Hiwatt for me, and not enough blackface Fender...
Another thing I didn't like about it, was how it reacted through my Two Notes Torpedo Live; other amps sounded pretty much the same through it as through a real cab, but for some reason, the Sig:X sounded a bit meh.

Also, sold mine pre-Covid at a loss for 850 euro's. It was really hard at the time to get rid of it, had an Engl SE EL34 that I also wanted to sell simultaneously and I missed out on some great deals on a few Mesa Marks, including an original DRGX IIC+ that went for around 1500 euro's! I thought it was too good to be true, and then I noticed some Dutch guy mentioning he bought that one on the Mesa forum.
That, and a Hamer Californian Elite were my biggest misses in buying gear when I had the chance.

The Synergy Deliverance might be pretty close.
