We shot some video today while we went through some phasing of cabs and amp blends for an upcoming record. Video 1 is phasing of mics and setup, video 2 is all the amp combinations. It's just audio from the camera in the room but you get so see the process.

Amps:
71 Marshall Super Tremolo modded by Dave Friedman
Diezel VH4
Bogner Uberschall Rev 2
Orange Rockerverb 50 MKI
Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier (2 channel Racto)

Cabs:
Bogner Twin Jet Front Loaded Uberkab
Recto slant oversized

2 - SM57s
2 - 421s
4 - Neves

Damn James! Your Friedman demos are the reason why my amp is at Dave's right now. Keep em' coming.

Yeah Dave is brilliant.

First vid is great James, first time I've seen that done in detail. Thanks!

Cool I'm glad it helped. I have been experimenting for years with amp combining for heavies, man it's an art.

I've been recording in my lowly home studio for years and never set up 2 mic phasing as you demoed...UNTIL TWO WEEKS AGO. I always just used my ears and I always knew it was probably off a bit. I just watched your video and had to laugh...I'm now using that exact method.  Man, I wish I had seen something like this years ago.

Anyway, thanks for validating the way I now check for proper mic phase.

The method is killer and so is the video you did. This should be a sticky for phase correction 101! :D

Getting phase right is critical.

Thanks very much for this. After a bit of mucking around I realised my amps were in phase to begin with. But this is very helpful and very handy, will use it for future reference, thanks.
