Hey, guys! :) :D

Just recorded this today, comparing the stock speaker (Greenback) of Vox AC15 amplifier.
Used the Vintage30 and the Creamback 75 for comparison.

Gear:
VOX AC15 C1
Gibson Les Paul
Mooer Repeater (on clean tones)
Roxstage Isolation Cabinet (based on Randall 12C w/ 2 mics )
Shure SM57
AKG Perception 170
Reaper

Hope you like it!

Great comparison, one of best I know. It really shows the difference between the speakers and the more drive you use, the more different it sounds. Quiet similar in the cleansetting.

I personally prefer the greenback.

I like all three of those speakers, but the Greenback sounds best here. No contest.

Thank you all guys for the comments! :)

In my opinion the Greenback perfectly matches the amp!

I can see why greenbacks and especially V30 are the industry standard for recording after these clips.. they just cut through so much more. The creamback is a lot like my weber legacy speakers, smooth and crunchy but I feel that defining top end is what makes things pop in a song context.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you set up the mics for this? 57 close and then AKG a few feet back? Is it mostly the sound of the 57 we are hearing? I dug it! I like the blend of a cascade fathead but find it darkens things up a little too quick on electrics.

Yeah... Greenbacks are great speakers. Love them.

The 57 was about 1cm to the speaker.... Really close. Approximately at the junction between the dust cap and the cone, about 45º.
The AKG was on the edge, at 90º.

In the mix I set the AKG about -4dB in relation to the 57.
