Vox AC50CPH in the house!

I just got the Vox V212BN with the warfdales in. I set the AC50CPH on top, its sitting on the handles :( If the feet were a little longer it would have been fine. Its surprisingly steady even so, it doesn't look like the amp was designed with the 212 in mind.

Although since its opened back I am noticing I can run the bass higher. I was a bit muddy with my fender MIJ HH tele, but that is a muddy guitar by nature.

I am now looking into replacing the reverb tank. This made a big difference with my AC30CC1. The accutronics tank was $25 and was worth every peeny for the AC30CC.

I hope the warfdales improve as they break in more. They kind of sound fizzy and undefined at higher gain levels. It would be nice if they were a little clearer and smoother. I may have to stick the G12H30's from my other cab into the vox cab sooner than I expected.

The 212 Vox cab had a very cheap input jack, next to no holding power when you plugged it in. I put in Neutrick jack, much better.

I did some preamp tube swaps. I ended up with an Ei Elite in V1 and a NOS RCA in V2. I left V3 and V4 as Tung Sol Reissues. This seemed to help the darkness of the amp and loose some of the muddiness that I hear in the second channel.

The Warfdales are breaking in nicely as well :)

First clip ever, sorry about the clipping in the middle. Not really pleased with this clip, but you get the idea. Both sections are with Channel 2, fat switch off, bright switch on through a G12H30 212 cab. I wish I had more time to post a better clip, but I have yet to see one posted for this amp or the 100Watt version.

Unfortunately I need to sell this amp. I have a baby on the way and need money right now.

I hate to give this thing up :(
