I use the dime wah for more than rock / metal...but agree it does do rock the best.

The 95Q is great though too!!

I had a Buda that was great and my buddy just finished modding an old Crybabay with true bypass and a few other mods. His sounds great too.

For me, it is all about functionaing live so I choose the Crybaby 95Q. It has the auto on optical switch so there is no clicking on or off. Makes it sooooo much easier to use live because you don't have to stomp on or off and I notice no tonal differences with it in the chain.

I'm interested in the Jerry Cantrell Dunlop sig model. Looks like its based on a Hendrix crossed with a 535q or something in that ballpark? Not sure when it comes out.

I didn't realize this would be such a hot topic!

Do people generally agree that the Budda wah is a good basic overall wah?

Thanks!

I would say yes. Wah pedals are like amps--they're all voiced differently and react differently. Some don't like a certain one's frequency sweep or lack there of.
From using the Budda for a good while, I really like it. But, I think most of the Wahs out there are decent enough.
I for one, can't see paying over $200 for a wah pedal though (RMC). There are alot of other choices out there for less that still sound good.

I have a Bad Horsie ll for it's convenience, a the new KH crybaby for its freq. and sweep, and the Fulltone Clyde Deluxe for it's versatility and it just sounds great in any three of its modes. I highly recommend checking out the Fulltone.

You know, just for conversation's sake, this kind of thing is actually kind of a problem. I don't want three wah pedals. Just one good basic one.

It's like the supermarket. There's 52 billion varieties of milk. I hate it- It drives me nuts. I long for- and am old enough to remember- the days when the bottle just said "milk."

It's sort of nutty. Everything is so advanced and specialized. Obviously there is some great equipment out there- Look at the Eggies!- but I wonder if it really helps.

These days stores only stock things that fly out the door. I understand that of course, but for the more specialized stuff they say "check it out online." That's a big help of course, but it is almost impossible to check out the physical feel of something with your own equipment.

Just my two cents!

Hi Len..I've had a bunch of boutique Wahs.[Budda, Fulltone, 535Q, old Vox]...I ended up with an Ibanez weeping Demon....AMAZING wah...very variable...built like a tank, and very musical...true bypass...turns off automatically when you lift off it...You can adjust the Q frequency as well as volume....and the tone as well...and they're only $99 new!!!...hope you are well...Rod

Just threw the CAE wah by Dunlop on my board and gave my old wah the boot. I was using a Build Your Own Clone wah totally tricked out that replaced an Area 51 that replaced a Fulltone Clyde. I am diggin this CAE wah a lot.
