To be honest I've listened to the youtube vids and various clips, got feedback from lots of owners(Lance gave it a great review), and still I'm not quite sure how it's gonna be. Lots of guys think the 3rd channle is similar to the XTC's red channel. I'm told ch.2 is very Marshall-esq. If both those things are true I'm in for a great amp.

I was fooling around with preamp tubes last night. I thought it had Sovteks, but it has all EH!!! I think that's odd.

I had a couple of Sovteks lying around and tossed them in V1-V3, and I think the gain sounds better on channels 2 and 3. Just from that little experiment, it seems that this amp is pretty sensitive to preamp tube changes. Of course I went and ordered up a bunch of Tung Sols, Chinese, and others to try as well.

Tubes make quite a change in most amps. A cold bias is another thing I want to check for as soon as I can. I simply don't believe amps come from the factory biased correctly most of the time.

Those will probably work out nicely. If you can get your hands on the Heritage series or the Stan spec Webers, give them a whirl with this amp. It's very lively with the Heritage greenies, especially when you pump the volume up a bit. I was floored when I played it thru the EVH cab at stage volume. It sounded damn good at low volume as well. Ahh shit, you suck. Im gassing for one again myself.
