Maybe Im just thinkin the 2 main volume is a boost or meant for that reason,,not to have a seperate

Volume 2 is a master boost, not a control for channel 2.
Thats what I though kinda a lead boost..
I tried it with that settup as my channel 1 going through the 2 main and channel 2 through the 1 main and it seemed fine since I dont need a boost for teh solos
Bruce I think the thing we are sayin is you really kinda put the gain high on the 1 channel to acieve volume to 2nd channel there is a little variance but I guess we all thought this would not be being made by TEH AMERICAN GOD OF TEH TONZ   ..Is it ok to use the 2nd main for the 1/2 channel and use the other for a 2 channel difference instead of a boost/master???The point being keeping channel 1 as clean as possible before any breakup and similar in volume as channel 2..

I didn't get a manual, but I just downloaded it and am reading it now. Really is some useful info in there. Duh moment for me - I didn't know Presence and Density were boost only, so that all the way down is actually "flat" for these. Thanks.

Boost only, meaning all the way counter-clockwise is "0", and you only add low eq (density) or high eq (presence) - there is no facility to cut eq, as opposed to regular EQ controls where 12 o'clock is "0" and turning counter-clockwise cuts the frequency and turning clockwise boosts it.

ARRGGHHH matey I see ...
The more I screw with it the more I like this amp..Boosted its incredible..

Forgive me but I'm having a hard time following this. For channel one to be the cleanest, turn the channel volume full up, set the main master 1 at around 12:00 to 2:00 and control channel 1 with the gain knob. Turn master 2 off. Set channel 2 gain for the amount of distortion you want and use the channel 2 volume to control how loud channel 2 is (balance to channel 1). This would be normal for any two channel amp that has gain and volume controls for each channel.

I have a Renegade 1x12 and absolutely see this amp as the best I've ever had. I've had Marshall half stack, Mesa Boogie 1x12, Line 6 1x12, Fender Super-Sonic combo 1x12 and others and this blows them all away.

I tried the Bogner and thought is was way to sterile. The Egnater amps (I was playing on my buds Rebel head w/2-12 bottom) are just amazing. They have that little bit of sustain even on the clean channel that makes you want more. It's like picking up the most amazing Martin guitar that has the sweet sweet ringing tone - and each time you sit for a moment and savor it. Egnaters are pure tone machines.

I have not measured my new renegade but will soon and hopefully remember to post back here. If I can put my guitar down!!

UPDATE: I measured the bias - the 6L6s are for sure running on the low end - cold - about 70 mv. The El34's were a bit better.

Can someone measure their untouched from the factory Ren 1x12's bias for both sets of tubes and report back? Maybe Bruce can tell us what the factory settings are?

I'm a tinkerer and have been playing with the bias - wondering what is optimal for sound - don't care about tube life. Bruce any comments heir ampmaster sir?
;)
