Washburn N4 is really bright.

Every time I've seen Nuno live, I've always liked his tone. The single notes on the wound strings when he's playing his funky style riffs always cut through with a lot of clarity and fullness.

Thanks PLX for offering up the info posted above. I've always been super confused about the various iterations of those Bill Lawrence pickups.

In the early 90s, I bought a used Lado guitar that sounded killer. Sold it off long ago without ever finding out the exact model/iteration of the pickup that was in it. Wish I had kept it. I'm pretty sure that much of what I liked about the sound of that guitar was the pickup.

Yep, same here..

That's why I put in some research a couple years ago, trying to piece it together.

The Nuno tone is kind of specific. I know in the early days he used ProCo RAT into a JCM800.

That research is MUCH appreciated @PLX !!! And there is no reason it has to be this hard lol.

Which one did you get originally? I think it’s been the vintage, authentic, and swamp ash for a bit.

After giving it my full set up, fretboard condition, fret polish it feels outstanding. The 59 is also really great. I can make the bridge work for me but definitely would like some other user feedback. Thanks!
I think it was the Vintage - i.e. not the one with the torn N4 sticker which I think was the authentic.
