Anyone else have a deep interest in severe weather? I was 3 years old and as a resident of central Indiana, I vividly remember the Palm Sunday tornado outbreak in 1965 (you do the math…). And the super outbreak of 1974. A few years ago, a tornado dropped a half mile from the house where we live and marched directly toward the “summer house” that is about 20 miles away, and lifted less than 1/4 mile before getting there. Dodged two bullets that day. I really (really) want to book a spring tornado chase tour one of these seasons. That shit is fascinating. There’s not enough energy for it to be epic, but Sunday is looking pretty interesting…

I’m pretty fascinated by it but I wouldn’t call it a deep interest. The weather here in MA has become extremely moderate over the last couple decades so I don’t get to experience much in person

I love severe storms, I usually hide in a little area outside and take pics and videos during tornado warnings. Severe thunder and lightning is like sleeping pills to me, it is so relaxing.

Things are starting to ramp up for tomorrow. Multiple rounds, some after dark, which is not ideal…

It’s all good until the river ends up in your living room or your roof ends up in Audrain County. And even if it don’t your insurance just doubled.

They been spot on. If they say showers begin at 4 and will end by 10 you can bank on it.

Its when theyre all quiet that i worry.
That's when we get hit with a surprise snow storm.

"The center was wobbling so we couldn't make a call"

I used to be, until a tornado tore through my front yard a few years back as I stood there watching, stupefied. It took down a nasty crabapple tree in my front yard, so it wasn't a total loss, but it damaged my roof and siding and scared the shit out of me and my dog.

Needless to say, I don't love severe weather like I used to after experiencing it up close. And I got off lucky compared to some of my neighbors who had tree trunks in their living rooms or smashed through their car roofs.

Ditto. 3 Fridays ago almost that exact same thing happened to me.

Yesterday was a bust. Not that I’m hoping for severe weather, but it set up well south of central IN. We had some minor wind and pea-sized hail. Average spring thunderstorm stuff. Wednesday looks interesting…

Tomorrow is looking pretty energetic. Plenty of time for things to shift, but the forecasts have been aligned for 24+ hours at this point. Time will tell…

Shit be brewing,.. It’s warmed up 30 degrees since 4:00 AM, it’s humid, the sky has cleared enough from early morning storms to start to destabilize things, there’s been a steady 20+ MPH wind all day (with gusts to 40). I think (hope) it will setup south of central IN, but it sure looks like it’s going to get bumpy. I like watching storms roll in but I’m not a fan of the nocturnal storm systems…
