I think we are going to sand, reprime and redip to get a cleaner transfer. That said I like where we are headed. First time dipping.

Did you add borax to the water? I always wanted to try the metallic testers model paints personally.

Love it.

Great you got your kids involved.

Fellow Mastadon fan here too

Psychedelic clown vomit, I can def dig that paint job. Some gold hardware and rail pickups will really tie that bad boy together.

@japetus has been posting borax pictures on the forum for a few weeks. I don't get his obsession with those furry little things.

They are Hyrax, show some damn respect.

Nice job on your first time dipping. I've been wanting to do one of those paint jobs but never got around to it.

When you get the look you want you'll need to give us all some pointers on getting good results.

Round 2, better color concentration and way less splotchy. Not perfect but we're calling this done. I think I'll dip again but it will have to be a new project...

Got it strung up, I think it's setup better now than before.i dipped it. Ceramic magnet afwayu in the bridge and 2nd° black belt in the neck. German Schaller.

The pick guard I dipped is hsh, but the body is hh. Got the idea to cut the top off a single coil cover then painted it yellow and glued it in place to cover the gap.

That looks really f'n cool with the glow in the dark paint. It also reminds me of (was it Gibson?) when the factory was flooded and they did special edition finishes to look like the guitars were sitting in paint filled waters.
