Well good to see the guitar industry isn't raising prices.

My favorite brand as well. Lumps and all. But once prices started going north of 2K for models such as Standards, it became unreasonable.
The guitar I got a deal on was an R6 and the store owner sold it to me for $1000. We’d had it a long time and he wanted it gone. I didn’t end up gelling with the fat neck like I’d hoped too and sold it a little while later for a profit on eBay. Told owner and he built a store website and we starting selling online soon after 😂.

As in 2020 with covid that gave every business that wanted to the "excuse" to jack prices claiming "our cost went up".
Like how you gonna fact-check them w/o an accounting firm ?
Now 2025 and the same damn thing with prices. Last 4 years we had some prices under control.
Same guy is the cause of the same type shit. But dont worry he said he would help.

Can the mods just move all of shithead-Dans threads to OT since all he wants to do is fucking whine and try to use backdoor politics disguised as guitar topics?
I'm happy to play but there are a lot of members that don't want to.

Yeah, I picked up and R8 once and knew there's no way I'd gel with the neck. R6s are really fat too. I'm a 60's profile lover.

The big price jump for guitars came during Covid when people were buying guitars like crazy. I’d say around 2022. Just before that I bought an SG 61 maestro for around $1400 new and a new 335 for $2450. Both are about a $1000 more today.

Gibson and Fender don’t need any excuse to raise prices. They are greedy as fuck and do it every year regardless.

For guitars that require no R&D and little, to no retooling on the line for decades.

Yeah I happened upon a 79 Les Paul Artisan 2 pickup for a really good price about 12 years ago. It was a fantastic guitar except for those frets. I thought about a refret but since they are somewhat rare I decided to sell it to someone that really wants the guitar original. Made a quick 1K on it though.

yea i dont have it in me to mess up vintage guitars no matter what...i'd rather just buy a new replica...more power to the pros who keep em going, i think its cool as hell to do that but i just dont have the talent in my fingers to justify doing that to a vintage guitar man

During covid i recall millions dying. Don't recall a guitar buying rush.

For the guitar companies, Covid was like winning the lottery. Record sales. People were stuck at home and a lot of them bought music gear. After Covid a lot of the guitar companies had to lay people off because of the drop in demand. Fender, for example.

After decades since owning a new Gibson, I took a chance on a Gibson '61 SG Standard in white...zero issues, QC was very good. I wanted the '63 Custom SG Les Paul, but at nearly $7K that wasn't going to happen because these aren't my main guitars of interest (EBMM Kaizen, Majesty, Ibanez PS-10) ....turns out Epi has the inspired by Gibson Custom version, for $1499, which has three Gibson pickups...again zero issues.

I have enough Gibson now, and enough Fender (Fender MIM Strat, and MIM Jaguar)...just to have "classics"

I bought a Silver Mist '61 Standard last year, zero regrets, zero issues. AMS is selling both the SG Standard and Standard '61 $300 off on a few colors, (Cardinal Red and Silver Mist).. I was tempted to get a Standard in Cardinal Red, ($1499)..

You guys who like skinny necks are lucky—you have your choice of every guitar made. Leave us big neck guys the Historic Gibsons at least
