I like the 50 Watt head way way more than the combo. My buddy picked up a combo didnt dig it much. Same goes for the Stealth I played. Way too much gain. Prefer the 50 watt head.

Me too.

really it all depends on how you have the amp EQ'd (imo) the way I have eq'd mine I actually get a jump in volume going back to clean not the other way round. Personally I think people are making this a way bigger issue than it actually is

bet it sounds fantastic. Im a metal player but find myself playing more clean peaces now a days so i understand you about needing a good clean channel. In white its a beautiful amp.

My 50 watt and 2x12 cab are regulated to band practice only. I'm forced to use the red and green channels but I'd rather use the blue and green which is just not possible. But for practice it's fine. That's why I prefer my 100 watters for gigging. I can use the blue channel for my high gain tones and still have the green for cleans.

I may be wrong here but couldn't you use a small midi selector with the 50 watt to switch between green and blue of you wanted to? I have the 50 watter coming tomorrow and I'm borrowing one right now and I don't find much difference in volume when switching between the 2. EQ is at or around noon on both channels as well. I guess it comes down to what you like to hear. I can have the blue channel roaring with gain and the green will be really clean when switched.
It's not that I can't switch between the blue and the green. I use a G-System with it for FX and use the MIDI for channel switching. But I can't keep the gain cranked on the blue and still have a pristine clean sound on the green channel which I need in my band. So for rehearsal I just use the red and green channels. It works for practice but I prefer the tone of the blue channel so I use the 100 watt for gigging for its true 3 channel flexibility.

Different things work for different people. I love the Blue channel with the gain and the EQ's all right around 12 o'clock. That's plenty of gain for what I like, and I'm not exactly into polka music.

Same here...and switching to the clean channel gives a very clean sound.
