I have a Diezel VH4 and recently sold a Diezel Einstein. I loved that amp, but having two Diezels is just too much money parked in the same spot sounding too alike.

So, I wanna get into Egnater and the modular technology.......

how much is a MOD50 NEW? how much is it USED? what are the current modules and what are they based on?

sorry if this has been asked, I'm just looking for some help. :)

Real quick, new prices and used prices are very close to the same actually. You won't save much at all.

Check out egnater.com for a description of the various modules.

Don't forget that you can use Randall modules in the Egnaters and ther are a couple of guys that do some great modding to get you closer to what you are after!!!I love the Modular!!!

The idea of changing tubes and modules at will just blow,so many choices and combos that sound great  I must have 100 frickin tubes laying around

+1 I must have $100s of tubes lying around (in boxes) ... not to mention $1000s in modules ;)

It dont get better than MTS. I have a "box full" of tubes of different values and love to swap them around.
Like old JKD I have a couple of grand in Modules and its like plugging in a NEW AMP each time! cant get better than this!

10 mods @ 350 average   It gets addictive. 2 M4s, Mod50, Mod100, 2 rt2/50s, cabs and the best TONE in the world. :D

$2250 with your choice of 2 modules. Find one used..good luck! If you do expect to pay 1800 to 2000. We are on a 3 week build time table from order.

yeah, definitely, I just sold this Einstein and I'm using the money to buy some Vdrums I need, but I'm saving already. I hope to get it in June/July.

Jeff...... I havea question

I play lots of blues/pop rock......ala John Mayer - Joe Bonamassa meets Lenny Kravitz.

I already have an amp with a Deluxe Reverb circuit (the duesentrieb little joe Olaf built me) so I was thinking about going for something a little bit different (not getting the T/D) and getting the Bman module for the clean/blues break up thing.......I've heard it in you tube and it ROCKS.....

....now, I'm not sure on the other module. I'm not a Marshall guy perse.......I LIKE a nice Marshall growl, but I don't NEED to have it. which one would you recommend? SL+ ? (I want something that can go from a nice AC/DC crunch to a full on Gun n Roses meets MEtallica's Load/Reload/Garage Inc tones..... not really interested in anything heavier than that for now (I'll eventually buy more modules of course hehe if not what's the point on getting a MOD50 :P)

The SL2 will do an AC/DC ish thing in channel A and a high gain marshall in channel B.

Also, you may want to check out the C.O.D. at some point down the line too. It plays completely differently than the other modules, it's less forgiving, but man does it rock. Extremely open sounding.

Either way you're going to love the mod series. The key is to experiment, if the module is not your liking, try a different one. Only problem is they all sound good so I just keep on collecting them

Absolutely on the COD. I chose this module as an extra module, but I end up living there most of the time. It's a great module for when you want good gain, not high gain. It holds together really well in the right situations. Also, the B channel makes for incredible lead tones that simply pop out in a mix.

how "heavy" can the COD get? can I play some Lenny Kravtiz/guns n roses with it? in the B side?

btw, now that I see this new thing the E2....... might be cool since it's a "preamp" which I can use with my VH4 poweramp........ but I'm not sure.....I like having two amps (when I'm rocking one the other can serve as backup....with a slaved preamp, if the amp serving as poweramp fails, I'm fucked.

The COD should easily do the Kravitz / GNR amount of gain. It's a different EQ than the SL & SL2 modules though. I have had good luck using additional boost/OD pedals w/ both channels of the COD and still staying tight enough not to be flubby. It's really all in how you use the EQ on the module.

 It's touchy sensitive :D

Is the COD good for things like......Audioslave, Soundgarden, RATM, Chris Cornell's solo career, just general rocky stuff. Really into this stuff lately.
