Im going to do a wet dry rig and was wanting something to put in line of my speaker cable with a line out that I will run to a couple of Tech 21 Power Engines. No rack stuff, Im all pedals with my Damage Control Timeline and Stereo Memeory Man delay. I know Palmer makes a small one, there is a the Hot
Plate but I dont need the attentuation, and the Hughes and Kettner Red Box. Only thing is Im not really wanting cab simulation so if the Palmer or H&K would let you turn that off that would be the way to go but if not Im wondering if the Hot Plate will give the most unalterd signal to my effects. Cant find any info on the H&K or Palmer being able to turn off the cab sim. Any experience with these or any other product. Help would be most welcome.

The only one I know about is the hotplate. If your concern was just the attenuation feature, you can turn that off on the hotplate and it'll just pass the signal to the cab and give you a line out as well.
Hope that helps.

I tried several of the products out there for this, the H&K beat them all in size, cost, tone, and practical use.

I've got the Red Box pro and love it for doing the W/D/W. You can turn the cab sims off.

The Hotplate I had colored the sound quite a bit AND having to adjust the line out volume EVERY time I adjusted my amp volume was a pain in the ass.

With the Redbox you set the ratio of wet/dry and forget it, turn up your amp...the wet goes up in direct ratio. No tweaking once its set.

Sweet! Thanks for the info my mang!! H&K it is.

Crap! Doesnt look like they are making teh H&K Red Box Pro anymore and the Classic you cant turn off the cab sim.

There are lots of options to do what you want. Let me know what amp you plan on using and I'll give you some ideas.

One Flight Up guitars in CT may have a new Redbox Pro in stock.

You could also just use a hotplate with no attenuation and use the line out.

You could, but the line out is active and will require volume adjustments for the wet volume everytime you adjust the dry volume.

Not mine, but https://cgi.ebay.com/Hughes-and-Kettner- ... dZViewItem

Here is a simple chart for how I'm using mine, if it helps.

That is what I do with my Rebox Pro, I use a vht 2/50/2 for my wet cabs.

The VHT is going to be racked soon with other crap so I have to figure out how to make other connections  I am thinking a patch panel again.

I'll say it again lol...we really need to know what amp he is talking about. If the amp has a loop or a line out then none of this crap is necessary. If its a single channel without a loop or slave, then he has many options.

Im going to use a Ceriatone Expression Trainwreck Clone. No loop or line out. Any ideas would be great Ralph.

Hey man.

There's a redbox pro on ebay with 1 day and 10 hours left on it. Current bid is 40 dollars.

RedBoxPro

It looks to be a little battered but it might be worth it to you and it's only got one bid on it right now.

Anybody ever used a behringer ultra g for this kinda stuff? I've heard good things about what it does, it's supposedly noise free without the cab sim and you can pad the signal down. The price is right but I dunno about anything made by behringer being between my ot and cab, anyone been the guinea pig?

Good question I too would like to see if anyone has used this.

I think Hal9000 may have used one in the past, not sure.

Cool!!
In that case the red box would work fine or any of the attenuators with a line out will be ok. You don't have to attenuate the signal at all to use the line out but you would always have that option if you needed it. That said, I would look at getting a used hotplate or any of the weber offerings with a line out. they are a great bang for the buck.

Thanks Ralph. I emailed Nik to see if its possible to put a line out on the amp itself but not sure it would work with a PPMV. If not I may look into a Weber mini mass, I may want the attentation just in case. Otherwise I'll get a HK Red Box Pro.

It's a little more pricey than the HK, but the ADA micro cab does line out + you can turn off the sims on this unit too.
Thanks man. Trying to stay away from rack stuff though.
