What’s an amp you want to give a second chance

If I could redo amps I've had in the past, it'd be my old 100w JCM900 SL-X, Stage 1 Mesa Stiletto Deuce, and Mesa Studio Pre.

The only amp I've actually bought twice is a Budda Superdrive 18 combo, and the second time around it just clicked & I've had that amp now for like eight years & change. Thing is, I went looking for one the second time because my tastes were changing and I realized that what I was probably looking for was exactly what I hadn't liked about the SD18 the first time around. Turns out I was right, lol!

I had a Peters GNL that I sold quick because it wasn’t what I was looking for at the time. It ended up working out because I got what I was looking for but I kind of wish I held onto the Peters anyway.
I want one still badly

I’m actually on the hunt for one of those funny enough. They are so rare. Even when I tried buying one back in the day when they came out they always have seemed to sell out when I was ready to drop the cash. I’ve never played one before.

There are two amps that come to mind for me; Mesa Triple Crown and Friedman Butterslax. Maybe I wasn’t in the mood but I did not see the special appeal these amps get. Nothing much to say other than they were very vanilla. Nothing stood out sonically.

The 3rd would be Krank, which as you’ve seen I already crossed that off the list. Still enjoying it. Great amp to blend with. I wouldn’t use it as my main rig but it’s definitely not as awful as I remember or what others make it to be.
The warp X really is the hardest to find

70s stock 100w super lead, anyone had one back in a day and I always rocked the 50

The Engl Invader or Invader 2. Had an Invader 100 for a few months and it was the only Engl I ever had that I struggled with to get a high gain tone I love out of.

Engl Fireball....

But I think I will sell it again....

I'm a big fan of the Budda Superdrives

I recently bought a Dean Costello Heavy Metal Warfare for the second time. At the time I sold it I was really preferring my multi-channel amps, but lately it’s been all high gain all the time and single channels work well. I regretted selling as I packed it up and as soon as I turned this one on I was grinning.

I'd really like to give the Mesa Rectifier another chance. Of all the amps I've gone through over the years, that's the only one that I'm kind of always keeping an eye out for a good local deal.

I wouldn't mind giving the Sovtek Mig100 another go. I think I paid $100 for the one I had in like 2005, and sold it for $150.

I'd give the Friedman IR-X another shot. I don't think I was cutting enough low end before hitting it with my baritone, and they're not very friendly to extended range IMO. But I love the idea of it and the ease of use when traveling and recording.

Bogner twin and Diezel vh2.

I loved the Diezel. It had a perfect sound. I owned it at same time as slo, and didn't care about the slo. I only got rid of vh2 because it wasn't single channel.

I think I got rid of both and got a twin jet. The twin was great sounding, but the loop was fucking terrible.

I did try another soldano avenger not that long ago, and it was just so boring and noisy after the amps I have tried since.

KSR Juno. I had one for a bit but it was a time when I was in a try and flip mode and I traded it away pretty soon after getting it. Just wanted to try different things. But it was a cool amp and I'd like to try one again.

Randall RH100. Had one about 15 year ago and really liked it. Solid state, but sounded great. Sold it and every now and then I look for one, but they never seem to come up.

Spawn Nitro, same as the Juno, had one and flipped it pretty soon. Would like to give it another try.

I always seemed to get rid of and buy 5150s prior the price spiking. Probably need one in my collection. Love the sound, hate how unreliable they are.
