Sorry, I win!:

-crate blue devil 1x12 (bed room/practice, first amp and was a gift)
-Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier (bought it when I started playing out since the crate couldn't keep up volume wise)
-Mod50

DONE! well almost...I'm going to get an m4 and e2, but from here on out it's going to be all egnater mod series.

I had the crate for practice and the boogie for shows, and now the mod50 replaced both.

I guess for my list to be truly accurate I should include that I have a Rebel and a crate powerblock that I have for backup, power amp for wets, or something for my friends to play on when they come over to jam/practice. I also have a micro cube I got for 35 dollars that sat perfectly on my bookshelf in my college dorm. I didn't include those on the list because they weren't bought in the search of a "tone quest", but rather they serve a function.

I have to say, it feels so incredible to be done amp searching and have gotten it right with so little tries. I'm really lucky  Now that that big hurdle is out of the way, I'm messing around with trying out effects (never used them before), and who knows, maybe experimenting with speakers or pickups for fun, but it's great knowing that I found my right amp for me.

Gorilla TC35 (gave away)
Fender Sidekick 35 (still have)
Fender Super Showman full stack (sold)
Fender Princeton Chorus (sold)
Marshall 8240 Valvestate (sold)
Peavey XXX 1x12 combo (sold)
Carvin Legacy head & 2x12 (still have)
Mesa Boogie DC3 (still have)

I must say that I'm impressed with the amps you guys have had and the memory  I can't even remember some of them  Lost a few cells back in the days

Bzzzzzzzt! Wrong! 8-) That would be me, though I'm not proud of it:

One (1) old Ampeg Reverberocket II GS12R

And that's it. Really.

Well, I've played through, but not owned, an old Ampeg Gemini II, a Peavey Special and more recently a Vox Valvetronix modeler, and Epi modeler. And there was that time we all rented Marshall heads for a special gig . . . 8-)

But with an Egnater in my future, well . . . the only amp I'll be keeping around is my old Ampeg 8-)

Interesting- I am selling my old Mesa (Rectifier 50 combo) to my buddy. Hooked it up in stereo with the eggie, just to check it out and have some fun.

I had to admit it- The eggie sounded better! I am of mixed feelings about that. On the one hand I am glad because I just spent a lot of money on the eggie. On the other hand it was kind of sad because I LOVED the Mesa. It was the first really nice amp I ever had, and I have played the shit out of it for 5 years. Still, it's going to a good home.

It was kind of cool to play in stereo. A very recorded sound. (No, I can't keep both amps! The wife mumbled something about "pay the mortgage." I paid it last month. What more do they want? 700 billion from Congress?) I have some Boss dual effects that really work best in stereo. It was kind of neat to play clean and dirty at the same time.

Still, the eggie's a good step up. I wonder what's next after that?

There's a thread- What's the next amp people want- or is this it? I felt that way about the Mesa 5 years ago...
