I have 6 cabs (picking one more up in a few days with G12-65’s) with various speakers.

G12T’75 ‘86, G12H-30 made in UK, G12H-30 black backs ‘70s, china V30 ‘13, 20 watt greenbacks and Mesa V30

The G12T-75’s in its original Marshall cab are usually my go to cab. They seem to do well with a lot of amps.

What are the cab and speakers that use the most?

Speakers for me are Altec 417B’s & C’s, 20w Greenbacks, JBL D120F’s & E120’s, ‘50’s Roger Charles (Cletrons) and sometimes Fane Crescendo’s. For modern speakers I like redbacks and regular V30’s

For cabs it’s my VHT Fatbottom and this special 112 that’s not publicly released yet that actually has more low end than any 412 I’ve played and a unique hi-fi, detailed sound. I really like also the Engl XXL’s cabs and may get one later on

I pretty much like anything JBL or EV. My all time favorite is the K120 for the JBL D series tone but with higher power handling. The problem is JBL alnicos are insanely expensive now. I have some EV Force 12's in my 69 Twin Reverb that are a great sounding speaker for reasonable pricing. @7704A has a set of them in his Marshall 800 combo and they sound great in it too.

EVM12S Pro-Line, and it's little brother the EV Force 12. 12S Pro-Line recones sound fantastic too, which is lucky given their age and the thrashings they take in the PA cabinets I usually find them in.

I have 6 cabs and my favorite is the 1960ax with UK greenbacks. I’ve had hundreds of of speakers over the years. Guess I’m getting old but I can’t find a use for anything other than greenbacks, old H30’s, or 8ohm Vintage 30’s anymore. I can cover everything I want with various mix and matches of those three.

I keep a 1960a with 75s since it’s pretty standard. I also have a 1960BX - I just put in Eminence cv-75s. Love those speakers! sound awesome in the room and record really well. I found greenbacks were a pain to record. Move the mic a millimeter and it sounds completely different. always was hard to find the perfect balanced tone

My classic avatar with v30’s in a road case…. Cab fuckin rips. Number two is my mode 4 with v30’s. Number three is my 1960 with 75’s from the 90’s or 2000’s. I am also using a mesa vertical 2x12 with my 5150 but honestly I am not digging the mesa with the 5150.

I had a lot of Cabs, but my Marshall MF400B/G12K-100 that i bought in 2004 outlived them all.

I recently got a pair of Swamp Thangs I am loving.

If you are sick of the Celestion fizz and honk, you might like them.

There's one for sale by me, and I've been kicking the tires on it. It's $650, but it's beat up. I guess that's the going rate in this economy, but I'm still stuck in "all cabs are $500" mode. I really just want the speakers.

I'd probably grab it. Those things are beastly.

They used to be way cheaper used, but they are really hard to get and the Speakers are discontinued now. Don't write the Cab off. It's good. If you get it and look inside, please tell me, where the Speakers are made :)

Been using a 80's Peavey straight 4x12 with V30 in the bottom and G12H75 Creamback on top mostly lately. I think I currently have 17 cabs.
