What to apply when playing VH4-S mono?

See, I see the term "it will work, but...".

To me? It means don't do it... You've got this one side of a V slowly oozing out wattage to an unterminated end - no load. Fizzle and sizzle Brah, even if it's on zero. So why risk?

I think it's safe to say we're "all" kinda right in our assumptions and take on what was said and read - as per FourT6and2's comment - damn straight, that's RIGHT out of the manual (and they make it VERY clear not to adapt this rule!!).

Peace... Still got strings if ya want 'em though
V.

PLUS (Additional Edit): to the OP, if this is a 4x12 cabinet we're speaking about in the original question, I'd be more inclined to re-wire it so it had double input capabilities - stereo wired. Just saying.

Apologies for reviving an ancient thread, but I just picked up a VH4S and only intend to use it in mono. I know I could run it into a stereo cab but I intend to use this amp head in conjunction with other amp heads and multiple cabinets through an amp/cab switcher. All of the other amp heads are mono, so there is no way to switch a stereo head through a single switcher. One option as previously discussed in this thread is to run the unused channel into a small cab/speaker with the volume off, or into a load box. The issue with those two options is that it will prematurely burn through the tubes. Another option that hasn't been discussed is to pull the tubes for the unused channel. Has anyone tried that?
