I play at about 3 Gallons.
How are you doing this ?around TV volume but I run a 3 amp stereo/wet rig so it still sounds massive at the low volume
I mostly play thru a JCM800 master vol on 8 into a reactive load/line out..
so, yeah.

Everything matters for consistency in recording an analog speaker. With my setup I find best tone is in the 100-105dB range.I can't believe people would track their dbs.
Easy to do with phone apps.I can't believe people would track their dbs.
Funny you say. I had a show Friday… needless to say it’s in a venue that has different acoustics than the band practice room. I had to rely on my practice settings which I play at same setting every time.. I knew my sound was right at the show but I sounded to me different. I chose to trust my settings to a T and on the recordings that we listened to after, it was my tone.. what I heard that night was only my perception BUT I am glad I didn’t chase my tone (eq volume distortion delay). I trusted what I knew to be right. Point is, I think by playing the same way and at same dB all the time allows me to know where I need to be. I have a stereo pre amp (the white one) that is a randall Satan pre amp on one side and a OG 5150 on the other (also has the 5150ii that is switchable) .. this goes into a poweramp and into the 2 marshall cabs and my Boss katana (purple head) goes into the the centre cab and runs all effectsHow are you doing this ?
Ah I see. Thanks for clarifying.Everything matters for consistency in recording an analog speaker. With my setup I find best tone is in the 100-105dB range.
