What was the name of your first band?

My first band was called "The Caffeines" we were a punk/ska band back in '91 when I was in high school.

let's see....my first band was when i was in middle school, and we went through a bunch of names and i'm not sure we ever definitely settled on one. we never played live, either, but some of the names i remember were: Roar Shock Test, Lifeblood, and Kinemorphic. i played drums at the time. after that, the guitarist and i tried to start something up again, but was only ever us. the name of that project was Footwrist, and it was basically instrumental metal that was largely improvised

not long after that, i started playing guitar, and quickly started up a band where i'd switch between guitar and drums (i had another friend who played drums and wanted to be in the band). we evolved a little bit and came up with the name Morning Star, which was was supposed to be this satanic reference, because we wanted to be sort of black metal. the other guitarist sucked horrendously, and couldn't remember even simplified parts intended to be easy for him, from week to week. took him 3 hours to learn a simple 5-minute song  eventually we evolved more and changed the name to Stormchoir (which i intend to re-use for a future band). around the same time i also started a power/thrash metal band with another friend, which we called False Revolution (which eventually became Olorin...for one or two shows), and that was the first band i ever actually played live with (2 high school battle of the bands and another school-sponsored event). i was also asked to play drums for another band called Omega, but i don't think we ever even finished the second song we were working on

Damn, you guys make me feel old! ;)

The Absolute Tank - circa 1966 or 67

Paramid - named after that inexplicable knob on my Peavey Renown.......

"Stairway to Heaven," "Breakin' the Law," that's about all I remember playing.

WTF did the paramid knob do, anyway?!?>!?!?!!

My first complete band, a three piece, was called Sugar Bear. I didn't come up with the name. Sang and played guitar.

Prism, after the Dark Side Of The Moon album cover. Not my choice for a name, but I was the only non-stoner in the band... I played keyboards, and stuck out like a sore thumb.

The first band I played guitar in was called Necessary Tragedy. We were, to the best of my knowledge, the only goth band in our high school.  We were terrible. I was the singer, and our lesbian bass player was the only one who could actually play her instrument worth a damn. All of our songs were forever long, and we couldn't quite decide if we wanted to be The Cure or Metallica.

No idea. She went off to college somewhere far away, and I haven't spoken to her in years, alas.

You are correct, though.

"twitch" around the time nu metal was big we had our own sound though closer to bad thrash than nu metal, we wanted to sound like pantera and metallica but couldn;t.

Too bad, I wanna start an all Lesbo band some day soon. Just imagine the stage show :2thumbsup:

"Magnum"---circa 1982-83. We played Journey, Asia, Triumph, U2, Kiss and similar crap.

Band that 'played out'?? Junior high, back when I still 'smoked'...

Hash.

Played one backyard party, had a fkn ball....
quit smokin to maintain brain cells, then went to coke right away.... :hys: It was good then to have band members that were older than you were.....
Ahhh, the good old days....

Weekend At Lilly's

think I was 14 or 15   We played nirvana/pumpkins influenced grunge

Bad Ax - 1978 - first band I played in a bar in. Did sit in a few times before that. I was 14. Christopher Walken on drums, Bill Brown on bass, Me with my Fender Twin, Big Muff, Les Paul Copy. A few hits of acid and we were ready to take on the world. Best band to come out of Gladstone. I don't remember playing out side Gladstone.
