What's the best noise gate pedal nowadays?

I've had a few Decimator pedals, not bad.
Then I took a chance on the Fortin Zuul, no way to play with it first.
My opinion, it's definitely the best.

Immediately went on my board and there it sits, permanently.
Worth the price, of course YMMV :D

Fortin Zuul. I've owned the Decimator ii G-String as well and prefer the Zuul. G-string ii ain't bad though, especially if you find a really good deal on one.

Yeah the zuul and the digitech drop are the only things that are constant on my board. Im always looking for the next best thing but since getting the Zuul, noise gates are no longer any concern.

I just got a Fortin Blade which is my first Fortin related boost. I could honestly take it or leave it. I actually prefer my Maxon OD808 with my Orthos.

My Zuul had to be repaired within 3 weeks of use, it was fixed and I had to pay for shipping to do so, the soldering on the pcb board looks gun metal grey, the circuit itself is amazing but I would suggest finding a nicer clone.

Mine also had to be repaired within a similar amount of time. I sold mine the other day

I just got the other 2 I mentioned earlier in this thread: the Highwind Phalanx and Lone Wolf Endless Blockade. Should be able to try them in a few days and let you guys know how I like them

+1 on the Zuul. Ive had all of the decimators including the rack version, and I liked the G string just fine, but the Zuul works great and is easy to use.

Was having some issues with my Boss Ns2 shutting off intermittently so I tried a Isp mini decimator, it introduced a high frequency squeal, so I sent it back, then tried a MXR smart gate, it gated pretty well but sucked the tone a little too much, loss of clarity..still on the search

MXR Smart Gate. The only gate that handled JVM's hissing and squealing. Where Decimators and others failed. Eddie and Luke use them.

I have the Decimator mini. It's a Decimator 2 in a small factor, gets the job done. If I would do extreme metal I would use the Zuul, but I felt the decimator had a more organic expander for the hard rock stuff. .

Another vote for the Decimator mini.
I play 80's hard rock/metal and it works great for what I do.

You ever get to try these side by side?
