I got the dual wreck tc pedal and its friggin great! Ill try to make a decent sounding clip of it in the room. I cant wait to try it out at practice tomorrow through the power section of my heads to give it a proper test.
Ive been experimenting trying to build a cheap pedalboard rig and this might work.
Hell yeah, I look forward to hearing it. Thanks!

What l's that new Plexi type one that just cane out? I can't remember the name. That one seems pretty cool.

I forgot about the 5150 distortion. I wonder how that compares to the bogner stuff. I might pick up the hardwire valve distortion if I find one cheap enough just to mess around with. Thanks!
I didn't like the Bogner pedals. I've tried blue and red, and they didn't do it for me.

KSR has some great pedals too.

For me the SLO pedal into a Blackstar Amped 1. That combo thru Creamback 75s is a solid runner up to my SLO 30

Lawrence Petross 87 or 74 for marshall high gain. Absolutely slays the friedman stuff.

For modern stuff, the KSR preamp pedals, 5150 pedal if you want to sound like a swarm of bees, Revv G3, and the Diezel are all popular.

I know it's nothing exciting but my DS-1 does wonderful things.
I know nobody wants to hear this so I'll say it: I bought a DS-1 on sale brand new for $35 in the late 90's and it lasted about three months before the switch died so I never bought another boss pedal again. Probably just a freak deal but stuff like that tends to sour people on risking their money twice.

I been using a Rockett Blue Note for about ten years now. Before that I had an original Jekyll and Hyde for about ten years. Visual sound/truetone was being what I thought was fairly innovative but it's like one day Bob Weir threw his hands up in the air and just relegated himself to selling One-Spots once the V3 stuff was released. Probably retired would be my guess.

The VonBonfire Nonsenseulator is the most radical distortion pedal ever made. There are no adjustable controls, the output signal is guaranteed to bear absolutely no relation to the input signal, is 180 degrees out of phase and features an innovative untrue bypass switching circuit (basically a dummy on/off switch). You must be truly committed (literally and figuratively) to use this pedal.

I must have 2 of these immediately. I'm cancelling my order for 3 metal zones and a gorilla amp

Now I haven't tried either of these distortion pedals yet, but I feel like 2 that I have been hearing a ton of positive on this past year have been the KSR Ceres and the Lichtlaerm Gehenna.

Ultimatemetalguitartones posted a clip of the KSR Ceres a couple months ago that sounds quite solid:

And then Kyle Bull, Metalhead Productions, and Leon Todd all posted promising videos of the Lichtlaerm Gehenna:

Hope that helps!

Those both sound great but that ksr is really kick ass.

I mostly use an EQ (Source Audio EQ2) in front of my tub amps to create an additional tone variation. It has 8 accessible presets without using MIDI control, but you can't switch the presets with your foot without an additional footswitch.

That said, I have a Source Audio UltraWave distortion which goes from mild (clean boost), to insane; and has deep editing software / online patch exchange for sharing patches, MIDI control and much more. Very versatile, and sounds great, or nasty, worth a look and listen. IMO

Also, the multiband lets you dial in different distortions on different frequency bands, so you can keep your low end tight, and control the icepicking and sustain on the high end, and balance the mids to keep them from getting muddy or wooly.

FWIW, this replaces their multiwave distortion which I also own since they were new; the Soundblox Pro format was huge, but it also had a graphic eq on top that was easy to use which they made into a separate pedal.

I didnt have time to get a mic out or anything, but it does show the boost pretty good. The built in boost is first pass the maxon 808 on the second pass. Its a cool pedal and im probably going to get the 550 as well

That sounds really good. Thanks for comparing the boost with the maxon. I might have to pick that one up. Thanks!
