My treat for paying off student loans was to get a wood/wicker fully loaded IIC+. Took me a couple years to find one and 14 hours in the car and $4500 later…. still use it often 👍🏻

That’s what I’m looking for right there . So cool

I paid 3900$ for my used Larry 822. And it's the least expensive piece of gear I've ever bought if I factor in how much use and joy I've gotten out of it.

When my PMM is finished, I'll have dropped even more money on a single piece of gear, and I wont regret it a bit!

I generally play moderately expensive guitars, you can see them in my signature - nothing too outrageous at all. But when I realized the impact that the Larry had on my playing and my sound, it wasn't even a question to drop the big $.

It's well and good to be frugal and get the most tone from the least gear, as certain boomers say, but sometimes the "least amount of gear" is a very spendy piece that fits you as a player and as an artist 🤷

GIVE ME, GIVE ME, I WANT, I WANT…………..I NEEEEEEED!!!

Most expensive amps I’ve bought in order: 1) Mark IIC+ Coliseum 2) ‘90’s Diezel VH4 Purpleface PTP Protoype 3) 1989 SLO 4) DAR FBM (no longer have it)

Most expensive guitars: 1) 1969 Les Paul Custom Black Beauty 2) 1957 Les Paul Jr

Most on a pedal: Klon Centaur Silver No Horsie

The ‘69 LP was my most expensive gear purchase ($8k). My ‘57 LP Jr is hands down the best guitar I’ve had (paid $5.5k for it), but the ‘69 is great too and a different flavor. Those guitars are a lot of money, no doubt, but I can’t think of anything else under 10k that can touch them in tone (except other older Gibson of course). I can get a super fancy, luxurious looking boutique guitar for the same price that sounds like furniture with strings attached to it or a vintage guitar that actually has great tone. Obvious choice to me. That all being said, my Charvel aged nitro’s have been my next favorites of what I’ve got in guitars. They have some magic in them somehow. Again something plain looking that should make those other fancy looking SS’s feel ashamed of themselves and re-evaluate their priorities. Unfortunately the classical guitar stuff (my main thing) is way more than the electric gear
