What's up with these pickups? I mean, everybody here on RT is talkimg about MCP and BKP and I haven't heard much about the WBs until earlier when a buddy told me to check them out. Anybody have any experience with these? I'm always trying out new pups and it looks like these might be worth trying.

I've got a Firewater set in a Les Paul that is amazing. I've never tried the Motorcity stuff (God knows I want too) but the WB's are the best fit fir what I do that I have tried.

That's exactly the set I was thinking about getting, either that or the heaven and hell set. The firewaters look like a good all around set for general rock, those ultraviolent 20s seem like they'd be killer for metal though, almost seems like they'd be too much.....if such a thing existed

I've got a proto type that i tried to get some info back on.. never heard anything after a few tries..

unfortunate negitive experiance, love the bucker... but went with another brand to get another pick up due to the service.

Damn, I didn't need to hear that, now I'm conflicted   Versatility vs. Brutality...what to do, what to do.....

Motorpud - Hehehe like i said in my first post. i have a proto type, i couldn't get any anwsers on weather the production run was any diffrent. so i bought an Suhr Aldrich and cranked up the posts a little.

Shame

The strange thing to me is how people repeatedly get away with stuff like this. I mean, it just seems like I'm always hearing about a guy that mods amps that never returns emails and keeps amps in limbo for months or a scumbag pickup maker etc. (both unspecific examples) How don't these guys get caught¿ It's like no one gives too much of a shit and people that don't belong to a forum like this would never know and the dude just gets to continue to go around robbing people  I know if it were me I'd get caught...

BTW you're right about the Aldrich, it's a great pickup.

This is what I was wondering too. How can someone like this stay in business? I mean, his product can't be that amazing to the point that people will risk being screwed just to hopefully get a pickup sent, can it? There are other AMAZING pup makers out there that have excellent customer service and some of the most respected pups around.

My dad started a small electrical company about 10-11 years ago and is an absolutely brilliant business man/hard worker/honest person in every way. He's done a great job of building a strong reputation and keeping steady work against the competition in such a hard economy.
But if one of his employees ever makes one tiny mistake, you wouldn't believe how quickly that gets around and can ruin someone's opinion of a small business and their work ethic. Of course he goes out of his way to instantly fix any problems and mistakes are a rarity, not to mention his work is super clean, but it just baffles my mind how certain businessmen can run such a shitty operation and be so deceitful and just fly under the radar.

I guess it may be because music gear manufacturers' clientele are spread around such a wide area that word of negative business dealings may take longer to reach potential buyers than say, a business in a small town.

Needless to say, I won't be ordering anything from WB.

I am actually having a similar issue with and amp repair tech.

Dude has claimed to fixed it twice and when i asked him to test it before I drove out
its an hour drive, and both times said it needed more work still noisy.

I havn't heard back from this tech and I am considering getting authorties involved
He has had the amp for over a year.

I am getting sooo frustraded..

Wow I'm surprised you let some guy keep your amp for a year :scared: who knows what the cops might say now, you got the receipt and stuff? He could just screw you and say it's his.

I have a WB Firewater, a Reverend neck pickup and I just got a UV20. I really like the UV20 in the bridge position of my Les Paul. It's bit. loud and clear. I have never bought anything straight from the manufacturer though. I got the initial 2 pickups from the Gear Page and the UV20 in a trade.

I got a set of these for my SG and they are amazing! I just bought another one for my Charvel.

The guy makes great pickups, but can't run a business to save his life unfortunately. I still use some of his stuff, despite the fact that he won't return my calls, which is funny given that I used to work for him. :(
