I’m in Denmark. And from what I read it’s the importers from US that pay the 20% fee. Not Europe. Which will result in less import and yes Europe will counter fee everything from us as well.

Depends on what it is. Sometimes I get around $0-100 per $1k, other times it's about $150+ per $1k.
Part of the issue is where the fabric originates from, as well. The highest I've dealt with was 35%, iirc.
The probability of fees seem to do more with whether or not it goes though UPS than other shippers.
 
I’m certainly no expert, so take all this with a pinch of salt, but I did a quick read up on the tariffs yesterday and this is what I found.

1. Importer pays.

2. All goods from the EU will have a 20% tariff as a general rule.

3. This EY article (below) indicates that goods listed in Annex II of the tariff order will be exempt. Also, goods en route and on the final leg of their journey to the US when the tariffs came into effect will be exempt.

4. A link to Annex II is below. If you go to the last page you see items under code 85423300 - electronic integrated circuits: amplifiers. However, I think guitar amps would be covered under code 8518, which isn’t listed.

As I said, I’m no expert and only had a quick look yesterday, so I may well have missed something. I really hope you all get your amps with getting hit with the tariffs - a Larry (and life in general) is expensive enough as it is.

The one you listed would be an opamp and yeah it wouldn't apply.

Tariffs also go into effect this week:

Using his IEEPA authority, President Trump will impose a 10% tariff on all countries.
This will take effect April 5, 2025 at 12:01 a.m. EDT.
President Trump will impose an individualized reciprocal higher tariff on the countries with which the United States has the largest trade deficits. All other countries will continue to be subject to the original 10% tariff baseline.
This will take effect April 9, 2025 at 12:01 a.m. EDT.

That would be great but it's not reality, duties are assessed at time of import.


It'll be interesting to see how this all goes down since I doubt there's been any staffing increase to help figure out how this is all going to work so there may be some delays.

Either way really sucks timing wise for the incoming amps.

It’s a joke man. I’m sure if Lary feel like it, he could change his mind and hold an amp for whatever reason. I’m kind of worried somehow these threads could be used against people. I know I’m never getting a Larry amp now. He has a list.

Oh yeah, I’m rooting for them to get the amps too! I’m also rooting for them to not be content and develop GAS, contact me for a deal and sell one to me on the cheap. Go team!
