Some that sprang to mind for me were Adrian Belew, Chris, Poland, and Reeves Gabrel. Also Johnny Marr at times.
Reb Beach is a helluva player though.I always laugh when guys mention poison, white lion, winger and some others… back in my high school days they were considered posers and chick bands…lol… watched a dude get his ass whooped in the bathroom because he wrote in the school paper white lion was better than AC/DC… ohhh the silly stuff back then compared to now…

I wish they just had the music and lyrics, the talking on the album bothers me.Amazing tone. I was too young to really be into 80's music but that playing is just badass and a killer tone for the vibe of the production. Operation Mindcrime is an amazing album to just isolate yourself, maybe puff something, get some good headphones and go on a journey.
I thought about Reb Beach, but other than his tapping (which NO one sounds like him), his solos don't really sound all that different from anyone else.Reb Beach is a helluva player though.
Ross the Boss doesn't seem to get brought up a lot here, but I love his solos.
Andy LaRocque !
We used to rehearse at circle studios in largo/seminole. The owner there is a guy who subs in for Chris' parts when Savatage does reunion stuff. Great player. Laid back old school rehearsal studio with fair rates and none of that killjoy no smoking stuff.I'll add Chris Oliva from Savatage as one of the most unique and badass

Ohhh absolutely. I enjoy listening to a lot of that stuff now. Except poison… can’t do it… I’m not a pimple on cc’s ass but everything about them grates on me.Reb Beach is a helluva player though.
