I am going to be getting three or four quads just to stock up. The budget is $20-$30 a tube.
There is Mullard, Tung-Sol, and and what else?

Electro-Harmonix EL34s are what I usually use in my Marshall-type amps. I also gigged with the Tung-Sol EL34 reissues and liked them as well. I've got a set of Mullard RIs inbound that are going in a Peavey JSX, but have no experience with them otherwise.
I've tried the JJ EL34 and E34L, and felt pretty meh about them. I'm sure they're fine, but just weren't what I was looking for. For that barking midrange of pushed EL34s, I prefer the EH.
Great tube. EL34 with next level aggression and low end.Using JJ E34Ls with my Yeti ATM. Nice tubes, a lil too low end-ish for that amp, and smooth on the upper end, but if you need added fatness and reliability they are good.
Looking for something with more presence and high mids tho, EH might fit the bill, haven't tried them in the Yeti tho.
Just in time. Are those EHs brighter than other EL34s?
How do these compare to their standard EL34?EH 6ca7's are nice
That's pretty much what I noticed with EH's. They have a little high-mid kick to them, but nothing over the top.I don't know about brighter, but maybe the high mids are stronger. Angrier without an increase in high end sizzle. It's subtle in any case.
Same here, and older Tesla EL34s (not JJ).RFT/Siemens El34s
My go-to. Have them in my Smallbox, and swear by them. Killer in Splawns, and Peavey JSX and XXX's love them.I'm using JJ KT77 lately with great success. $20 a tube at Amplified parts.
