yep SED's are cool, but he's got 6CA-7 which can be cool also for something deferent.

got any clips ? ..... GAS attack!

You guys are all correct, my buddy with the Jose put the winged Cs in and let me try them and they definitely made a difference. Just saving a few bucks to pic them up in the near future. We tried a few different tube combinations in the preamp recently and it really roars now. I promise I am in between video cameras but will put a few up ASAP.

how's the Caswell stack up against the Cameron?

these are not jose arrendono marshall mods. keep sucking camerons pipe cause he sure is. you guys are clueless.

how's the Caswell stack up against the Cameron?

The Caswell has a more creamy tone, not to the level of a Jose but pretty good. What I like about the Caswell is the overall package. It can do a great 80s sound with the 39 mod engaged and the gain toggles on and it can go back to a stock 800 and pretty much everywhere in between those two. It also has a pretty good useable dedicated clean channel that makes it versatile and the 39 mod, clean and loop are all footswitchable. It definately does not have the aggresion of the Aldrich in its highest gain mode but that isn't what it's supposed to be. The only downside of a stock Caswell is the bottom end. My buddy put a bass mod on mine, same one that's on the Aldrich basically, and it made a world of difference in fattening up the sound. It's a great all around amp and I do really love it. The other plus is that Tim Caswell is very accesible and a great guy to deal with. Bottom line is that the Aldrich is a great compliment to this amp depending on the mood I'm in. In fairness I have to say that Mark Cameron did get back to me on a question I had with the Aldrich and even though it was a few weeks later, he did respond so I have no bad personal experience with him either. I see clearly that others do so no judgement on that, just my experience.

What preamp tubes in the Aldrich?

I have the original tube that I got with it in position 1, it's unmarked but appears from what I have been told to be an 8th gen Chinese tube, I think 12ax7C. Second tube is a Groove 12ax7c and the last is a Marshall tube I got out of my old DSL50, just says Marshall on it. Strangely enough, this combo sounds really good. We moved a bunch of things around and I came back to this. Clips upcoming.

Where are all the clips you promised, you could have built a camcorder by now. Let's get going on this. :gethim:
