YMMV, but for me the '80s were BC Rich and Steinberger. For guitars, my fav from back then has to be Vito Bratta's Steinbergers. For bass, it was DD Verni's BC Rich Spider bass (I had one of these, I posted a pick of me with it here awhile back when I found a youtube still-shot playing a song from a band I was in during the mid-90s. I had several American BC Rich's back then)

There were many good guitars around then, seems guitar makers were being very creative compared to today, IMO. I still have an early 80's Steinberger L2 bass, made in Newburgh that isn't going anywhere. If no one in the family wants it, I may be buried with it!

Love Amir's guitars, and Chris Holmes' Jackson Stars were VERY cool. Robbin's King V's & Firebirds were the stuff of legend. Lynch's guitars are killer too...
