Who has a good practice routine they follow they can share?

Your practice routine depends on your goals, and likely will evolve over time. At present, mine is:

1. Warmup, technique drills.

2. Working on movements from one of the Bach solo cello concertos, or working on material from Yusef Lateef's Repository of Scales and Melodic Patterns.

3. Free improvisation.

4. Repertoire.

I look at songwriting and recording as separate from practice.
 
Love that this was bumped. I've had it bookmarked since 2023 and haven't looked at it once lol.

With that being said, I've been practicing my songs with a metronome a lot more recently.
And when it comes to practicing classical, I just sit down and force myself to play what's on the sheet.

So in other words, I have terrible practice habits.

Too structured for me. I try to learn one new song or concept everyday. 365 days later I have 365 new songs in my repertoire. Learn and imitate if you want to develop skills and a vocabulary.
