I am fairly certain there is only one...I had it custom made.

If anyone around here has it or knows who does....I would love to buy it back  :D :D

Tony,

I'm pretty sure I do.....you mailed me about it when I first got my MOD50....be a hard thing to let this go bro....since the Ultra/UltraXL has been my go to module in Randall land....

What do I recommend...play the EG5 and see if you miss the UXL....if that doesn't work for ya, lets talk about it some more :D

I thought I had spoken with someone here about it.

That was my go to module first time around

I never get tired of posting this one, not quite big enough to see the UXL writing tho :D

Hey JKD -

is that at 2x12 you have there? I need to get a closed back 2x12 so I can fit all my shit in my truck and was just wondering if that was a custom order in your pic or not.

Thanks.

It's an Egnater 2x12 and not custom as far as I know...not 100% sure of the history, I think this might be the prototype...was trying to track it down and it looks like the guy who sold it to me might have bought it from Jeff H. on another board.

We sold a proto type from StoneAge cabinets to a guy in DC or somewhere around there. Can't tell if its the one. If it is, it's not like our 2x12. It's like a his.

I almost bought this module from JKD about a year ago. When he told me what it was, I knew it had to be the one Mctallica1 had been talking about previously...I had a feeling that the thing must have turned out sounding bad for him to have let go of it. Interesting.

Nope.

I sold it when I sold the MOD50 I was using it in.

IMHO, this module is a monster for modern high gain tone.

Hi Tony, I’m still enjoying the MOD50 you sold me! I’m using the TS 5881s in it and the B’man and E/G34 are my two main mods.

I didn’t keep the UXL for long; for me it was too compressed and seemed thin compared to the SL2 and E’rect. The UXL sounded real close to the EG5 as far as cut and compression but I find the 5 more usable for me at least.

Question, did you have that E’rect modified or was it stock? I sold it but now I miss that module and was thinking about ordering a new one.

You must be thinking of a Randall Module...I haven't owned an Egnater for even a year yet..... I did sell a Randall last year (because I kept the Ultra instead.)

The Randall UltraXL does not sound bad, in fact it kicks major arse, the Egnater doubly so :D

Very cool Glad you are digging it!

I love the UXL for death metal type tones and not much else, btu I love that type of tone for certain things. As an all round high gainer, my favorite was the SL2.

The Recto I had was modded a bit for less bass and a tighter bottom (there was still PLENTY). I will be doing this again.

I'm wondering if I have your old Erect module too...heh. Any way to check out the mods?

No, I'm certainly thinking of this module and I don't buy the Randall stuff. You decided to keep it instead of sell it, and you may have not even received it yet at the time. I say a year but it could have been anytime last summer. You described it as nearly solid state sounding.

Honestly, I have never tried to sell my Egnater UXL module..I bought it in Feb this year

I described the cap modded *Randall* Ultra/UltraXL as sounding almost like an ENGL Powerball....which is about as 'solid state sounding' as a tube amp gets...to someone, may have been you....and the (custom) Egnater UXL is voiced after that module.

....way off topic but it's all good :D

Perhaps there is more than one of these out there then? A friend of mine has all of the Randall modules so I certainly wouldn't have been interested in either. I was searching for an MHG and was approached by someone here with an Egnater version of the Ultra - I wish private messages went back that far but yeah, really not that important.

I do have a prototype EG5 right now that I bought instead.
