Who makes the mostess badass Wah Pedal..

I’ve got an Xotic XW-1 (very tweak-able and precise) wah, Friedman (zero stars, don’t recommend) and a Cry Baby Classic. I’ve owned and gigged the 535q. All of them except the CB Classic seem to add some fizz in the mids and soften the bottom end of the bypass tone on any amp I’m playing so I stick with the classic even though I’d appreciate more tweak ability and a longer sweep.
 
Wilson wah for me. Kicked the CFH off my board. The mini crybaby is pretty good too and I use one on a small board.

you didn't like the friedman? was it the no more tears wah? i just picked that up used, i think it sounds pretty good. i guess its been a while since i compared it to anything.

For me there was only 1 usable setting of the 3 and compared to my other wahs it wasn’t that great. Kinda muddy and the sweep is weird.
 
I am by no means a Wah expert but since it wasn't mentioned, I really like my MXR Slash Wah. Just the right amount of sweep for me and not over the top. Prior to that I had a custom Wah a friend made based on the Boomerang circuit. Then a Morley. Then the 535Q. The latter was noisy as hell and didn't play well with my signal chain - but it could have been user error.

Xotic wah sounds great and has a ton of features but it just didn't do the one thing I wanted.. for me it's all about the Schenker sweep. For that, believe it or not, my favourite is that mini cry baby. Has the three modes. I bought the bigger version and under my foot, it doesn't get me there as quick as that little bastard cry baby. It's a great pedal and does a lot of tones well. I want to have a big wah on my board because it looks cool but those little guys get'er done.

Xotic is still a great wah though, would do that quacky thing extremely well and has a nice detail to it. I'm just not recording funk for Porn movies.

Here's my Area 51 wah built from their kit into a used non working Dunlop wah pedal.

I’ve had several of the orig crybaby’s and Vox’s, RMC Picture, the CAE one…I think a Budda one…nothing has the range and prominent squawk on the Xotic. Only issue is a slight pause when engaging the foot switch. It sounds so good I work around that. If they made one that solved this issue I’d spend the $ to replace it in a second.

I would love to try a Jam Pedals Whacko just cause it looks really cool

Definitely excited to try the Xotic XW-1 sometime. I think that small pause I hear about is the only thing that has prevented me from buying one. I own the CAE which I quite like. I like wahs with a wide sweep and a very pronounced wah sound. I bought an RMC Wheels of Fire Wah a couple years ago and was very excited to try it, but was really disappointed. I thought the sweep would be really wide, but honestly the tone with heavy distortion sounded remarkably thin. The physical feel of using the pedal was also not smooth. Almost felt like it needed grease.

I actually just ordered a Jam Pedals Whacko for a fly rig I'm building. Have only read positive things. Hoping it holds up well in a metal/high gain context.

I have an odd thing against owning signature gear, but like the Xotic wah, I've heard pretty much nothing but great things about the Cantrell wah.

I still remember seeing this video of the Cantrell Wah years ago and thinking "Wow, that sounds great!" Super throaty and pronounced.

I’ve got one of those little crybaby’s and it’s cool on a small board but personally I’d never want it on my main one. But hey different strokes

For small footprint, I was happy with the AMT Japanese Girl Wah (is it still called that?). I used to have one I built from a BYOC kit that was totally tricked out with different EQ ranges and multiple inductors, but once I found the setting I liked it was just sort of overkill.

I am going to grab an expression pedal to use with my ms3. Any recommendations or advice? I have that Cae 404 wah…it’s really nice. Has a boost, different modes and it’s adjustable. Best thing is it’s quiet. My favorite is the old Morley bad horsie II…the switchless function is awesome as well. Been years since I played one but I remember it getting really wild sounding….
 
Still to this day my favorite is the Crybaby 535 which is not the same as the 535Q. Lots of sweep options, good boost and I like the LEDs that let me know what's engaged.

I had one of those from Geoffrey's first run (serial no. below 100 I think) also thinking it would have a much wider sweep.
Kept it around for ages in a box, and finally got rid of it a few years ago.
Since then I had more fun with a more basic (3 mode) Tech21 Killer Wail wah. Also still own a vintage Colorsound for those Blaxplotation soundtrack tones, but it needs a compressor or boost to counter the volume loss. Tone is great tho.
 
My favorite that I have owned for a long time is the RMC Picture Wah. Never disappoints.....
 
I've been using Teese Wahs for like the past 20 years and they are a good, well made, solid pedal. I use the Picture Wah these days and its the closest to my buddys oriignal. He's also great to work with if you have questions or want to do mods...etc. This is all based on the likes of Hendrix' wah tones. I havent tried his newer modern sounding wahs just for full disclosure.
