I would sell my xtc for a chance at a pt100 or any of their brothers  but never sell my renegade...strange huh :scared:

I have no desire to sell my Mod 50. The PT100 sounds like a great amp but to be honest I liked Pete's Komet clips the best.

Wactched the Pete vids on youtube pt100 (just FYI I am monitoring in a pro control room with HR824s as the mains and E3s are the secondaries) ans the clips sound great for him. Noting struck me as leaps and bounds beyond the MOD50 but again I am not in th same room as it nor "feeling" it as I play. Sounds awesome but not awesome enough to blind sell off the MOD50 and buy. The negative feedback knob is a great add. I have one of those on this modded fender super reverb here that is really effective.

Hmmmmmm MOD100 has balls you say and 3 module slots hmmmmm could be a good idea.... sheesh wishy washy again haha

Having owned a Mod50 and Mod100...and owned many other amps either 50 or 100W. I really have to say a lot of it has to do w/ 100W power sections. They offer more headroom, are punchier, bigger, fatter...not necessarily that much louder...but they just offer more punch and gerth. The Mod100 was definitely more "ballsy" and big...and powerful vs. the Mod50. The Mod50 was a bit more "polite" warm, squishy, etc.

So personally...if I were going to stay in the Mod50 / Mod100 realm...I would lean towards a Mod100. But...I am building my 2555, and using the M4 with it...so that'll work great for me. When the E2 comes out, I'm most likely gonna get one of those too, so I can use my modules w/ my small pedalboard if I want. But we'll see!!! :)

Having played both the PT100, Mod50, and Mod100...the PT100's power section is similar...to the Mod100s..with more tweakability. I'd totally get a Randall RM100 and get the dual channel upgrade...and just be done with it!!! :) I've also be interested in finding out how the Mod50 sounds w/ Mercury Magnetics PT / OT / choke.

I agree Eric. After playing my Bog 20th Anniversary Ecstasy I thought about selling my RMod100. This morning I decided to play the Mod100 and A/B them in the clean channel area. I like the Bog better but the Mod100 has its own flavor. Cant really compare them against each other, its more of what flavor are you looking for. Another words they are each there own. They do seem to blend well and compliment each other.

I was really ready to sell the Mod100 and jump to a Hiwatt or Silver Jubilee but I think I will just save up and buy each amp. I am still on the fence about thinning out my modules

I played the 20th XTC at Tone Merchants while out there for NAMM and the Red Channel was absolutely ridiculous!!! I absolutely loved that channel. Everyone fawns all over the Blue channel but it was just ok for me. The cleans were good too. People love to slam the XTC clean like they do the SLO clean. I thought it was definitely usable. But holy shitballs, the Red Channel was just incredible.

Having said all what I said about the PT100 / 2555....i personally have NO DESIRE to sell my M4 at all either. I love it, and the modules are there to get me tones I don't have w/ my current amps, nor amps I really want to buy! For me...the E2 and M4 are what I personally love...and am able to use with any amp. I'll never go completely without egnater...that's for sure. I just love the XMAN, VX, COD, XTC, and EG34X too much to part with them. As for me, the m4 was what I used BY FAR the most from Egnater. I'm just a rack whore I guess! :)

The Red channel is insanely great. Pulled "crazy train" out yesterday and WOW! Randy Rhoads should of had this amp. I really like the cleans. Mine has 6l6 tubes and I thought I would have Bogner mod it for the EL34 but maybe thats why I like the clean channel. I have the blue set up with a nice breakup for blues rock.

Also works perfect with a Fender USA Deluxe and then really opens up with a Gibson LP :rawk: Haven't tried my PRS custom 24 yet. :D

I seriously almost bought that amp for Red channel alone. I am not kidding.

Thanks so much for all chiming in! Especially those that have made a change or contemplated the jump as I have. So i spent time listening to vids and clips of a bunch of amps and then playing the MOD50 with different modules last night and i can say that for now I just can't give up the Modular world. I am too happy with the versatility and such. Certain tones make me smile and still sound better flavor wise to my ears than clips of other amps. Damn you Bruce for build the one that cant get away haha.

Question for me now is... do I try to trade out and get the MOD100 or stay with the 50 and then next... gonna figure out what amp to buy in ADDITION to. I dig the Jubilee clone idea for sure. But I guess the tone I am missing the tight aggro death metal tone. GAS here i come haha.

It is super shallow of me but the only thing left that irks me a bit is how cosemtically the MOD50 in similar enough to the Tourmaster etc that people think that is what I have. Haha I am a snob. But not irked enough to make a decision based on it.

Thanks again dudes

On the "cosmetics"....go call Mojo...ask for Andrew...and have him build you a empty headshell that's the look you want! Mojo makes all of Egnater's USA made cabinets and headshells. They can make you a Mod50 headshell to the exact specs Bruce uses...with different tolex. Done! :)

Eric

Good call on the Mojo headshell Eric. They built this 2x12 I use all the time. When i read your post I though duh haha. Now the problem is too many choices cause the ball is in my court to choose.

Why not just get something to match your 2x12. :)

Secondly, you only have color options / tolex options anyways. You need to get the same size / dimensions...etc.
