cragginshrd - I bet that cat loved your 'pissed-off' tone

I don't know what it is but the Tabbies usually are the most social and lovable IMHO. Those guys are cute, are they related from the same litter?
Yeah. Sisters.

Not too long after that pic the one on the right ran away from home. Like 3 years. Her sister was devastated. Then one day, she came home. We were all so delighted. She hung out for a few days and then left again never to be seen again. :dunno: Sister cat is now mentally challenged. As in retarded.

That's kind of odd, usually the females declare the house as theirs and protect it. The males usually run off either tomcating or just roaming. I named my cat Jeep since I picked her up my Jeep. The house was hers and she let people know it, I was the only one she imprinted on she was still nice to other people but I was the only that was the boss of her. I could be working out in my shop and she would just lay on the deck of the house sunning herself happy as clam but when I told her get back in the house she would do it. She really seemed to understand what I told her. I know alot people say it's bullshit especially with cats but I think she knew her name and understood words as I didn't train her with food responses like Pavlov's dog. I just remembered she loved climbing ladders for some strange reason, she would climb to the top and then freak out about getting down, I would just tell her you got up there get yourself down....she would piss and moan and then slowly work her way down especially when shoe would climb my 10 and 12 foot ladders I sometimes would have to get her...big dumb ass!

We just liked and trusted one another, back then I worked 12 hour shift work but whenever I got home and I opened the door from the garage she would always be there with quiet meows and stretch and put her front paws on my knee for a pat on the head. This happened every day for most of the 16 years until the last year of her life.

I'm sorry to hear about your other cat, I was lucky with mine, she was smart and very healthy up until the the last years, my vet said she was starting to decline and I could see it. I just promised myself that when it was time I would not prolong her suffering just to keep her around a few more days and really suffer, I've seen that with too many people who can't mercifully let them go when it's time. My Jeep stopped eating for a few day that's usually the sign and one night she had a ministroke that she fully recovered from but it was time and I took her in that day.

If you ever get a chance watch the Secret Life of Pets.......it shows there is some kind of psychic bond between the owners and the animals, it's a cool show and seems to show there is something there going on.

As I get older, I appreciate animals more and more. My one and only cat has been gone for many many years, but the saying that it is better to have loved and lost than to have not loved at all is true, at Least as it pertains to the relationship I had with the cat. A part of my soul left when she moved on. I haven’t gotten another one for several reasons, but I am confident that that love can be felt with others. I often say that there are two things that will automatically make me smile in life, even when I don’t want to: Loud distorted guitar, and just seeing a cat being a cat (even on a bag of cat food at the store)

There was this show on tv called "Must Love Cats". There were only a handful of episodes made but this guy would travel around playing the guitar and finding good cat stories.

There was this one episode where he is in England and there is this cat that hangs out in a town bar then takes a taxi cab ride home at night. It's pretty amazing. This cat is like the town superstar.

You guys are missing the OBVIOUS answer. Cats sit on your amps because they can't push them off and watch your reaction when they hit the floor.

I had one that would do that on weekends when I tried sleeping later than usual. He would knock things over everywhere. Nightstands, entertainment consoles, shelves, anywhere he could get up on. He would do it until I got out of bed. It wasn't because he wanted food or anything he needed to survive. Once I got out of bed he would go nap on the couch. Never understood this.

I’m sorry. I didn’t really mean it that way. I’m a dog person
Me too but you might not know but their are cats that very much act like dogs. My one Bengal yells at me because he wants his belly rubbed. He will follow me around until I go to the day bed, or bedroom, where he will jump up and roll right over on his back for belly rubs making all kinds of funny noises while he gets scratched. Another of mine loves fetch and will bring the toy back over and over. None of my 4 bother my amps though which is a good thing because one of my F1 Jungle Cat Hybrids is a lean 20 pounds . They do love open guitar cases.
