Just installed a Wilkinson VS100N tremolo on my Charvel. Talk about a killer trem. Stays in tune as well as any Floyd I've used and is half the hassle. Turned a great guitar into a total rock machine. I love this thing. Off to play!

Heres a quick clip I made before practice last night. Love this guitar.

I'd have to agree!!! I put one on my warmoth and am constantly surprised at how smooth it is and how well it stays in tune...

I do have staggered hip shot locking tuners on that guitar so I'm sure that helps.

Wait, so how do you fine-tune it - unless you don't have the locking nut on??

You do not need a locking nut and it does not come with one.

I have a locking tuners on the guitar. The nut is just a standard non locking nut. So if any tuning needs to be done, I adjust at the peg head. Years ago I had a Carvin with a Floyd and only locking tuners. With a well cut nut, you really don't have to have anything other than locking tuners.

So did the Charvel come with a brass vintage style bridge?

No. It came with a Fender style two point bridge. I just pulled it off and slapped the Gotoh on. Added maybe an extra five minutes to the string change. Adjusted the claw in the back to get it level and I was done. While you can't go all Steve Vai on the Gotoh VS100, it does keep tuning very well. I don't really get down on the bar that often. I mainly use it for light vibrato and an occasional Jeff Beck style pitch bend.

I am thinking of one of these as well.. where did you purchase from and what did you pay?

Good to see it in action. Was always on the fence on this trem until now. Thanks.

I picked it up off of eBay. Paid $99 for it new in the box. The one thing that you need to makes sure of is that your nut is properly cut. If not, the strings will pinch and your tuning will be off. Other than that, a good set of locking tuners and you're ready to rock.
