EG5 with treble rolled down and a 2290 wth 8-25 mil delay will get you in the ballpark.

That's sweet - I'm just waiting for my COD and EG5 to arrive.

How about the TC Nova Delay will it be an ok substitute for a 2290?

Any delay will be fine. Ever see the Young Guitar demos JP did when Suspended Animation came out? He used a Boss DD-20. Still sounded like him.

So a COD and EG3/4 might be a nice combo for my MOD50...

I'm using a COD / SL2 in my Mod50 1x12 combo w/ great results. The EG3/4 module instead of the SL2 will be awesome too.


I'd consider using a lower gain tube in the COD to give you a little bit "higher headroom" clean tone on ChA. I currently use a Tungsol 12ax7 in V1, and a Jan Philips 12at7 in V2 with good results. I'm planning on trying a Jan Philips 5751 in V1 also. I didn't like 2-12at7's in the COD though.

I am running my Mod50 TM212 (g12t75 cl80) with the COD and EG3/4 and really like it. My COD has a JAN Phillips 5751 in it. This combo with my 08 MIA Deluxe S1 strat or MIA standard strat has amazing tone.

What about the COD and Erect combo for JP? I have my Erect dialed in to match my Mesa MK III. I have liked Dream Theater for along time but JP is way beyond my playing skill level.

Yeah, I will do some serious tweaking when I get my COD. I will try to team it up with the Erect and the EG5 and see which combo suits my needs best!
