I can't laugh at his expense considering what the guy went through.
Hated scene, no doubt about it. I can't even imagine it. My best friend who I had known since 1978, committed suicide a couple of years ago. He and his wife split, and it hit him hard. He had been taking antidepressant meds for some time, which I suppose could have complicated things. Shook me to my core!

We were both 24 years old here. He had kids... I had a Jackson! :)

The other thing with Kip he's not only a musician's musician and has
worked for some really heavy hitters, by all accounts he's the nicest guy.

Now someone like Axl Rose, who I don't think I've ever read a nice thing about?

That's different. :cautious:

I met him at NAMM in 2010; he couldn't have been nicer or more genuine. We ended up talking for at least 5 minutes, and I swear I couldn't get a question in -- he wanted to hear about me, where I was from (I was in the Coast Guard at the time and he was really interested in that for some reason). He also joked about the age old musician's dilemma on gear -- when you're up and coming you can't afford any and once you've made it all the companies throw more stuff at you than you know what to do with.

Firm handshake. Super cool dude!

Note the violinist @ 3:57... The neck has been sanded for speed.

With the advent of compositional software, any proficient musician can arrange and document in same manner. I may need to dust-off my old Korg i30. :)
