Don’t drag me into this!😂

It’s true, I kept the UU over my KT120 (KT66) HR. I could dial them in pretty damn close. The Uber is a lot more versatile too. I did have 4 other Wizards when I sold it, one being a 50w MTL that Rick customized that made my HR sound too smoothed out in comparison. Im not the only one who thought the HR was too smooth and I know Rick made some updates subsequent to the initial ones (what I had) that went out the door. I think they are less smooth now according to Justin since he’s had one before and after the updates. The Uber was capable of delivering a more raw/aggressive tone, similar to my customized MTL. I also have a 60w KT66 MTL with C transformers that I liked a lot more than my HR. I’d like to try a KT88 HR with the updates, but I’m not really raring to spend the $ when my Uber can run KT88s and sound just as good IMO
I’ve only tried my KT150 Hell Razor (got it in January) and a friend’s KT150 Hell Razor and no doubt the Uber Ultra EL34 I had was the smoother amp when AB’ed and I consider it the exact opposite of raw (it sounded to me like an already recorded amp and very filtered). The Wizard’s I find raw, natural for recent made amps. Honestly it made the UU I had sound like it was under water when compared no matter how I dialed in my UU

My guess is the Rev 2 since the UU can cop it, is more versatile and has a WAY better MV suitable for lower volume playing when needed.
Both my Rev 1’s work just as well or better for lower levels as the UU I had. Maybe I should try some Rev 2’s for myself to see. I tried a friend’s Rev 2 many years ago, but didn’t know at the time how to dial them in and he didn’t want me play with his settings anyway. Still sounded pretty good from what I remember

Yep. And don’t forget far better cleans and not needing a boost out front for the tight, brutal tones.

The only thing I found missing on the UU is the upper end lacking the sizzle of the Rev 2. It’s probably because the UU is voiced for a 16-ohm cab.

I think you would dig it for sure more than the Rev Blue and TJ. Maybe not the OG but I found it interesting that @Bxlxaxkxe sold his Rev 1 and kept his Rev 2, most likely to turning a better profit.

Yeah I remember it sounding much better than those versions. It didn’t have the wow factor of the OG’s I’ve had, but not sure how much is variation vs other Rev 2’s, his settings and his also ran KT77’s, which I know I hate in my OG at least (in some other amps I’ve liked them)

I’d guess it’s probably for that reason. Close enough sound to each other to not feel like keeping both. I heard an iPhone comparo clip of the 2 and had a clear preference for his Rev 1, but I’ll actually be able to AB my 2 OG’s with that exact one hopefully soon

I don’t make money on anything gear related anymore :ROFLMAO: . And I’m fine with that.

OG was badass - very thick and a little laid back where my rev 2 has a little more slice and sits up front more. The depth sits different on the OG is the biggest difference. Ultimately they’re more similar than different though. I have two rev 2’s now and they are different from each other. One is with Reinhold right now.

@PurityS.L.G looks like I need to put my AB pedal to work and do a shoot out with the Uber ultra and hell razor.

I’ll add having them both right next to each other the Uber ultra punches WAY above its price point. Considering a mark vii, diezel, fortin, granophyre, whatever the hell you want are all more expensive. They’re both modern sounding aggressive amps. Yeah, the hell razor has more clarity and is less compressed but is it 3000 dollars worth of that. That’s the buyers choice. I’m kind of torn on it myself because the Uber ultra is just that good. I really enjoy playing my wizards, when I’m by myself. But to sit in a mix they require a bit of work due to the super weird 300-1000 range that them, vhts, and hi watts have in common I know this makes some people absolutely hate these types of amps. The Uber ultra sits very well with other instruments and in a mix with pretty minimal tweaking.

Put that AB pedal to work, and get the shootout goin! Please

This amp sounds like razor bladed asshole.

And I'm not even trying to troll.

Just get a metal zone and a treble pedal and stack them on a marshall if you want this tone.

🙉🙉🙉🙉🙉
