Wizards MTL vs Diezel VH4 ? I know its an orange to apple comparison.. but due to its range and tones it can fetch which has a better ground dominance ?
Not sure what ground dominance is, but here are some before and after pics...
How do the Wizards compare to the Friedman?
I can only speak to the JJ compared to Metal. I dig the Wizz the most, and it had more that Marshall mid thing than the JJ. The Friedman to me was more compressed, and though the JJ was very dynamic the Wizard was still better in that category as well. Tons of gain from both, WAY more than I'd ever need. With the metal I never run gain more than 1/1:30 and don't really use any saturation
Sorry for my bad english i was trying to say which has a wider coverage on tones.... thanks and your collection is awesome !
Both have a pretty wide coverage of tones. I'd agree with Devilinside's comparison to the Friedman. Friedman is darker/more compressed sounding with a little more hair in the gain. The Wizards are much more open and have more punch and girth to the tone. The Wizards are super tight and percussive which I love - even moreso than my UL. I have an OD808, but I find I don't use it much with these amps. The wizards kick out a lot of low-end thump, so sometimes I use it to help cut it a little. Both the Wizards have tons of gain. I've read people say that the MCII doesn't have enough for metal without a boost, but I disagree. It's no 5150 buzzsaw, but it has plenty of gain. I'd say if you like the Fryette UL, you'd love Wizards, they play like UL, but take it to the next level. The UL was my favorite amp until I got the MTL and now MC2.
