Hi everyone! Was wondering how the Ground Zero Hellion v2 compares to a Wizard MTL2?... anyone have experience with these?
Thanks in advance,
Steve
Thanks in advance,

Awesome response and info bud! I really appreciate the help. I just picked up the Hellion V2 for a decent number,... Im excited to give it a go!I feel it would be more fair to compare hellrazor and hellion. The mtl2 is a solid amp. But the other two are fucking beasts.
However, this is a time when you would want to play them to see what voicing you like. They all will have punch. The hellion is much tighter than the mtl2 and tighter than hellrazor. The hellrazor is like a mtl on steroids. It is one of the best amps i have come accross. Maybe the best.
I would like to spend more time with the hellion. It is a very special amp also. But i feel like it has so much versatility. And i think the hellrazor is going to be more specific.
The mtl2 is a fun amp, more low mid than some of the wizard offerings, but still that wizard high end. It will do everything you need and have punch for days, but you will want a boost with it for certain stuff.
Good. I tried to give info without rambling too much. It is a fine line.Awesome response and info bud! I really appreciate the help. I just picked up the Hellion V2 for a decent number,... Im excited to give it a go!

Congrats!
I do love both wizards stillI feel it would be more fair to compare hellrazor and hellion. The mtl2 is a solid amp. But the other two are fucking beasts.

Yes they are. Both incredible.+1 I've got a Hellion, just picked up an MCII, and despite both having a Marshall lineage they're definitely different amps.
I will reserve judgement til i play one, but for some of us, there is a sweet spot in between the classics and the modern amps, that some builders are hitting quite well while delivering on punch and voicing.I guess I'll be a voice of dissension. I had a brand new Hellion V2 with KT66's and also own a MTL2 KT150. I did not gel with the Hellion. Despite its tweakability, the inherent voice just didn't do it for me. I also don't like the super modern djent stuff, which maybe it excels at. For me, the overall character was too sterile. I tried it with EL34s, thinking it would add more mid grind to it but I ended up liking it even less. Tried it with all 5 of my cabs and eventually just moved it on. It's not a bad amp, it just wasn't the end all, be all amp that you might glean from the endless praise. Kind of like the DV-77 speakers, which I still don't get. Maybe I'm just getting old...
And despite achieving it, the GAS will live on lol.I will reserve judgement til i play one, but for some of us, there is a sweet spot in between the classics and the modern amps, that some builders are hitting quite well while delivering on punch and voicing.
That balance is where I want to live
I am at the point now that i try amps to find one that beats mine. If that happens, i will have to have it. But i wont get rid of it before then. Because it fits me like a gloveAnd despite achieving it, the GAS will live on lol.
No, it’s just personal taste that sounds like it would be similar to mine based on those descriptions. In general I don’t like KT66’s as much eitherI guess I'll be a voice of dissension.
