Wow, this Hammett solo was a disaster....

I'm a huge Metallica fan and even like Kirk Hammett, although he can be a bit "off" sometimes. However, I have never seen him completely slaughter a guitar solo like he did on this one. His timing was so far off, I wondered if he would even get thru it. Hell starts at around 3:47...

 
hmmm, I actually didn't think it was that bad, timing off in some places, but I was expecting a train wreck. haha. I have seen worse videos from Kirk.
 
I think you're nitpicking. it worked fine.
And I'm no Hammett fan.
 
Hell, that wasn't bad at all. It's the way he plays, and I'm sure he's laughing all the way to the bank.
 
Wasn't as bad as I expected either. Seemed like a "typical" thrash style solo to me.

Wasn't bad in my opinion :dunno:

Either way-really wish Jason was still in the band. He just fits in better. His stage presence and overall attitude/demeanor.
 
So he was off a bit.. So what? He's played thousands of gigs all over the planet; every solo won't be record perfect.

The fact is that some dick posts' the video with the mistake, and then everyone else piles on like the haters they are.. This board is really bad about this.

Just that made me LOL....

As I've said before, I got nuthin' against KH or Metallica... They're mega huge and ripped metal a new arhoolie back in the day. I, on the other hand - did not.
 
Kirk Hammett is what you would call a "scribbler".... right and left hand never sync up. he's always scribbling down the fretboard..Lol! i actually laughed at my computer...just a bunch of random notes...but who the F am i and i haven't had a tenth of his career...maybe a .005th
 
Why doesn't anyone think Kirk is dead on and the rest of the band is off :confused: :dunno: ;)
 
meh, wasn't -that- bad. what surprised me was that the sloppy rhythms and thinner sound were from james.
 
I thought it sounded pretty good considering they seem to be playing a pretty stripped down stage setup. He sounded fine.
 
I like the funny faces Lars makes after the solo at around 4:50. He sort of looks like a bald, deranged Anthony Hopkins. :lol: :LOL:
