Wow, this Hammett solo was a disaster....

Kirk Hammett is a human, he also eats and shits like everybody else, he also has good days and bad days... ;)

The only advantage you have is that when you gig and do a bad solo, the next day you wont have forum minions post a topic about the way you played in that concert, however with your topic, you just undirectly promoted metallica... :D
 
It's funny how Lars is slowly turning into the "Phil Collins look".

I don't see any "disaster" here, I couldn't do better myself. All those bashing attempts are lame if you ask me, spend more time playing than hating. I'm not the hugest Metallica fan but they are rock n roll, they are always on tour rocking thousands, millions of fans and they deliver each time. So he's having a bad night, so he's having a bad song, maybe that one wasn't even on the set list and they did it at the last minute. Shit happens man, even with Holdsworth, Govan or Lynch.

There are other ways to make yourself look good.....bashing other guitar players is not one of them and is never becoming. Everybody has their good and bad moments. Thank God there isn't video footage on me every time I pick up a guitar.
 
Jason only needs four - made me laugh. I'm glad to see Trujillo pulling out the Tobias basses as you don't see them with the metal folks that often but they are just sooooo sweet.
 
Why share a solo that you think sucks, especially when it wasn't nearly as bad as advertised? Why all the negativity here lately? How about share a solo that you think is awesome?

And if you have to travel down that path of negativity, why not go with an epic-ly bad solo like this:

 
Wasn't utterly awful, but hardly good either.

How is the sound split in stereo? It's as if they mixed a feed from the desk with a fan-shot video?
 
Hammett's solo was just the icing on the shit cake. :confused: Everyone's performance sounded like one giant clusterfuck to me :bash:

Now that was bad and painfully sad to watch. Eddie almost couldn't even walk.

Dooodddd....I thought that was one of those "shreds" videos....pretty shocking......makes the current Eddie all the more impressive. :thumbsup:
 
i can't think of another guitar player who kops as much shit on the internet as Kirk Hammett, i'm sure he doesn't know or give a shit, i think what annoys people is that there are a ton of other Pro guitarists out there who are far better players than Kirk and will never have a fraction of his success.

I can imagine it being frustrating for guys who are far superior live players who see Kirk in the biggest band in the world and seemingly not giving a crap about playng in time, tune and with accuracy.

If you watch the older live stuff he was MUCH better, on the Kill em All bootlegs and Ride the Lightning and MOP tours he seemed much more on it than he does now, maybe all that "Gak" affected him more than he lets on...
