Are scumbacks just reworked/broken in Celestions or are they 100% made in house?

You guys need to try out some Scumbacks and you'll throw all those Celestions in the garbage. I've played Celestions my whole career and was always a fIrm believer until I checked out the SB's and now they're all going up for sale. M75 65's and H75 65's on an X pattern and you'll never look back GARANTEED!

My Motto is... If it ain't broke don't fix it... the CL80's have all the PUNCH and Tight bottom, I could ever want... It's real smooth on the top, It's got great grind and it's WARM in the mids...

I'm Not Looking Back Right Now!

Hey man, I thought the same thing. I've been using Celestions for 25 years and you think how can it sound better...............well it does, trust me.

They're not Celestions at all. They're made by Weber. Jim at Scumback went through over 400 vintage Celestions, picked the best, and had Weber recreate them. They sound incredible.

As long as they don't sound like "pre rola" Celestions, I am interested. The pre rola tone is my least favorite of Celestions unless you are playing through a stock, bright Marshall. I do appreciate Jim S and all of the time and work he has put into his speakers.

Same here, by trial and error. I have 4 M75's and the absolutely kick ass with the Marsha, which is what I bought them for. With the Cameron though and my new-old FJA Modded Marshall, they don't do it for me. I have a couple H55's and H75's coming from Jim's next shipment to play around with. One speaker can't be the one for every amp. Its all good though, just finding what's best suited. Mark swears up and down with the H30's. I have another Mills 412 Straight AB being built as we speak. It is going to be loaded with the 55Hz Heritages. Tony has been adamant about the CL80's for a year now. I had two, ordered two more and see what that's all about. They should be great with the Cameron, as it drove the cones off the K100's too and by the way sounds really good with T75/V30 combination.

Dave - did you get a cab sorted from Mark?

Hey Steve, check out the M's and H's together. I'm telling ya it's the best of both worlds. My Cameron and Friedman mods both sound unreal through them.

Will do just that when the H's get here. I have taken up a new hobby - - speaker/cab tester. It has certainly improved my soldering skills :D and I am now the Ohm-Master!

I have the M75 and H75's in an X pattern in my Bogner straight. This combo of speakers is the best I have found for the CCV and also for the Wizard. By comparison, also have the EVH heritage greenbacks in another Bogner cab....those sound really good but the Scumbacks are simply in a different league IMHO.
