If anyone knows of anyone selling, please let me know. Thanks.
Agreed. I’ve had mine for about a year and definitely one of the best amps I’ve played. It’s the most tonally complex, rich sounding amp I have with a voicing of its own. One of the very few non-vintage amps that’s impressed meMay be the finest amp of all time.
I had some original Gold Lion KT77’s in a vintage Hiwatt head I gigged in the early 90’s. After I pulled those tubes, it never sounded the same. Just amazing tubes.Get some Mullard F91/92 long plate 12AX7’s for all preamp slots, including Gainmaster, for full-tilt boogie. That’s what Bob uses.
A Quad of GEC KT77’s would be the tits too.
The amps I’ve seen on Reverb are from Bob directly and you have to wait for the amp to be built. Just trying to get one quicker if possible.go for it, there always on sale on reverb, some come with the drive thingy for the loop? i think, hell there's the stereo version for a little under 10k
I don’t have a gain master (bought mine used). I’m curious, does the Gainmaster actually give you access to tones you couldn’t get without it or is it more just let you get the same sound and lower volumes?Get some Mullard F91/92 long plate 12AX7’s for all preamp slots, including Gainmaster, for full-tilt boogie. I get it. I didn’t take your comment wrong. It’s all good. I just happen to be in a situation where I can afford the purchase. More than likely I’ll just have to wait. Not the end of the world.sorry i meant it flippantly i understand what/why you're waiting to buy now as opposed to wait, i was more surprised to see someone interested in those amps, not to say they're in anyone garbage, i want one, but they're very expensive or would be for me, that was the thrust of my comment more than judgement for a WTB ad,

Your probably right. I’ll just have to wait, which isn’t that big a deal.I know Bob just got in 30 or so chassis so he's building away again. I don't see his amps come up for sale real often, so you might just have to wait it out.
They are about 5k per head. Those amps are 10k???
Haven't made the move yet, probably March, April at the latest. Mostly depends on getting a big frame and metal handle order in first. Then it will be the fun of packing what I haven't sold of my demo gear, parts, etc. Glad to hear the KKK is still working for you four years later. It was sub par when I got it, but between Allyn Meyers and Dave Friedman working on it, it turned into a beast. I just old the TrainWreck Express clone I had, still got the K60 clone (just biased & tuned it up, Mullard XF2 power tubes and Amperex Bugle Boys in it now), and the Rocket clone as well. Not sure if I'm moving those or not yet.Your probably right. I’ll just have to wait, which isn’t that big a deal.
Did you make the move to AZ yet? I guess Bobs there too now. BTW, still have the Komet Koncorde Klone you sold me a few years back. Great sounding amp.
Can anyone here please answer my question above if they know? Does the Gainmaster actually provide different tones that can't be achieved without it? Or does it simply just let you get cranked sounds at lower volumes? Trying to figure out if its worth getting one or not and was hoping Nigel would answerI don’t have a gain master (bought mine used). Bob makes it sound like the Gainmaster is the entire “front end” of the amp. In his videos it sure seems to expand the range of the amp in my view. Can anyone here please answer my question above if they know? At low volumes it’s clean. It’s one of those amps though that gets loud pretty fast, but the overdrive is amazing when turned up loud enough to get there. It’s good for clean too, but wouldn’t choose it’s cleans over something like my Copperpanel AC30’sBob makes it sound like the Gainmaster is the entire “front end” of the amp. Does the amp break up at all at lower volumes? Seems like it’s pretty clean from what I’ve heard. Sounds like it would be tough to find a stand alone gainmaster based on what I’ve read online.
I just text him. Hopefully I’ll get in line and have one built.Just called Bob. The current price of the Gainmaster with the 10n amp is $5,950 USD.
