How much was it ballpark for him to source the Marshall and do the Kali? I know Marshall can be found a bit cheaper across the pond.

Not to get into too many details... but I know my budget and I speak to Dan frequently. For a clean, good year JCM or JMP.. full mod with loop.. I will just say in the ballpark of $2500 - $3000. Cheers

Mine earlier this yr, for a really clean '76 super bass, Kali++ mod with everything I wanted and a few nice extras Dan offered was $3300 to my door. Not cheap, but very fair for a custom made amp to my specs. You can do it cheaper depending on mod type, extras, and how picky you are on amp aesthetics...

I paid more than that for my Friedman in '13 and although it sounds good and I still enjoy it, my Gower is a better amp

I have Dan's pricelist but I was curious what it would be with him sourcing the donor amp. I think the mods I was thinking would have ran about $700 U.S. but thats without an effects loop. Its kinda difficult to source good candidates for mods which is why I would rather have him do it.

I believe Dan told me donors were between $800 and $1100. Mine ended up being $1000 for a clean specimen.

Thats a good price range on those amps. Especially not having to ship it over the pond and pay duties.

That is good. You cant find anything decent for under $1200 -1400 around here.

When I did mine years back, Dan found me a very clean vertical input(1984) JCM 800 as a platform amp. He did end up replacing caps just to be safe... but I believe we got that one for around $1200 shipped to him...and it was clean. He cares about his work and clients... he will only outsource an amp that he would use himself.

Not affiliated but here's 1: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=206732 I have a Gower Killer Kali myself built out of a 50 watt 1987 with no fx loop and the amp is just incredible at any volume. . Mostly love the hi-gain though, as I have other amps I love for lower Marshall gain
