Sounds great. My XTC with the gain @ 10:00 doesn't sound like that!

My older XTC had about half the gain my new does. The red channel mod adds an assload of gain!

Seriously, great clip!

A lot more gain, tighter, and a little brighter. Only affects the red channel. Simple mod to do on older ones but I don't know the location and value. Brent does though.

What year did they do the Red Channel upgrade? I have been wanting to try an ecstasy bad these last few months as well...

Pretty much the only 3 amps I want to try are

Bogner XTC
Elmwood Modena 60
Egnater Mod 50(especially the EG5 module)

According to Bogner, the red channel mod started coming stock in '04. There's rumors that they did something else in '06 or something, but it's probably just talk.

Aug 2004 was the red channel mod and 2005/2006 was the detachable power chord and different brand relays. The relays they were using became discontinued.

Begs the questions, how can you tell what year XTC you have and how can you tell if the mod was done?

I thought the guitars sounded great. Lower in the mix, they would have fit like a glove...perhaps their prominence is throwing some of you off?

I "think" they started just putting the dates on the amp instead of the symbols after '04, but I'm not sure. Mine (an '07) just has the date, but I'm not positive on when they started doing it.
