I was a sales clerk/postmaster for 20 years. Flipped over to carrier and deliver mail a few years back.
All I kept hearing was UP SELL! UP SELL!
Its all bullshit. Give the customer what they want. Thing is with big boxes that are light they have to measure it and put a size surcharge on it.

Yeah I havent worked the front counter in years but I know the prices on everything have went up alot.
I havent shipped anything that big in a long time so I couldnt even guess. Most expensive thing was a guitar to Australia and it was around $150? But almost 10 years back.
