Yes, this is the best recto sim out there, period!

I wrote the company to see if they needed any demos done. Gonna see if they hit me up like Mercuriall did.

Have you tried this one? Mercuriall's 5150III is amazing.

Yezzir. In fact I posted on your thread of it that it is the best 5153 amp sim out there. Their amp sim of the Rev G is cool but to me it doesn't sound as good or accurate as the STL Rev G. I do welcome the 1 Meg pot mod Mercuriall added to theirs. Stuff like that is what interests me anymore on amp sims. We sure don't need another fuckin Plexi amp sim thats for sure UNLESS its modded.

I also have Mercuriall's XTC amp sim. It blows away the Nembrini version. Its pretty accurate in feel and tone but its way too dark even with other 3rd party IRs.

I gotta check the XTC out now!

Sounds awesome!

Does the full tone in the clip (not counting post-EQ) come from the plugin or did you use anything before it to shape the signal of your guitar going into the plugin? There's a lot of great compressed sizzle on top but very clear string definition in the chords that ring out, while palm mutes have ridiculous chunk to them.

Getting those elements happening all at the same time might be one of the hardest balances to strike in high gain tones I think.

Thanks man! I appreciate that. There is no pre eq or anything on my guitars before hitting the sim. I’ve never really messed with that ever, although I did try JST’s di matcher a few months ago. Neat trick, but didn’t do much for me.

I really think it’s just the EQ moves I made. I forgot what all I did, but it’s generally the same stuff: wide cut around 350-500hz, maybe some 160 pulled out and then a big bump around 80-100 hz to counter that, just depends. Then usually the 2.2k 2.3k whistle that is always present to me, korneff audios AIP plugin is amazing for this, truly a do all plug-in for sure.

Wavemind rev F. Only 60 bucks as well. Has an incredible looking GUI too I must say.

I like this better than any recto sim I’ve heard, including my axe fx probably. This is just absolutely devastating and feels and sounds just like my rev F. This thing is absolutely punishing. Used the tubescreamer boost up front.

IR is titan Audios pack, the 65m creamback with a 57/201 mix. There is no eq on this other than high/low pass. Enjoy! SoundCloud kinda sucks, but it’ll do the job.

Just tried the free demo for the sim. It is pretty awesome! I'm going to use this in addition to the ML Soundlabs Recto. Thanks for the heads up!

Hey @VESmedic I suppose this is as good a place as any to ask this question.

I have a DR Multi Watt which I think sounds really good. But to me, the MW's Orange Modern mode is way better than the Red Modern mode, as the Red Modern has some pre-gain low end flub I just can't seem to dial out no matter what I do.

I don't have much experience with Rev F or Rev G Rectos though. Are their Red Modern modes looser than their Orange Modern modes in the same way as the Multi Watt, or would you say the 2-channel Red modes are about equally as tight as their respective Orange modes?

I’m like 99 percent positive they are 16ohms, but I will ask Zach and find out, almost positive though. I have An engl straight cab that has 2 8 ohm 65m’s in it as well as 2 v30s, incredible sounding cab.

I have a cab with that combo and find it a bit awkward to dial amps in for both speakers - it'll sound good in the room, but then a single speaker won't sound right under a mic and setting up the amp for that speaker will often make the other sound worse because they're pretty different. Curious if you run into that since it seems you're usually recording and so a cab with mixed speakers doesn't matter as much.
