my bandmate used one of those. cool sounding amps.
The Heartbreaker is kind of odd in the Mesa amps. One side the preamp is blackface or blackface with a extra gain stage. The Mesa Mark one thing. The other side preamp is JTM 45 or JTM with a extra gain stage. The poweramp is similar to a Fender Twin. My friend Andy Marshall thought it sounded better than a Twin. With the switching it can ballpark various Fender amps. But I can get it close to a 2203. Does a really good JTM. It can do straight up metal if you want. I use 6L6 in it usually. Lot of people prefer EL34. 6V6 sound good in it also. Really versatile and underrated amp.

My first real nice amp I bought new when it came out was a 76' Fender Twin. I bought it to cover those type of sounds. But it is capable of so much more.

Eric Gales always sounds good to me. Doesn't matter what he is using.

Eric Gales when he used Dual Rectifiers. Compare that to the Fischer Price toy-amp he uses now.

his vocals were a bit more present back then. the tone is subjective but sounds like the higher gain boogie freed him up more.
cool stuff!

sounds like a solid band and enjoyable tones.

my only gripe is when blues songs get overly repetitive and monotonous, just so a featured player can solo for 48 bars without a whole lot of improvisational purpose or adventure.
ie the chuck berry lick slowly speeding up while facial contortions get increasingly theatrical is just predictably weird to me🤣

better than a twin clean and JTM 45 to metal dirt sounds like a perfect foundation to me! i only tinkered with that amp but liked what i heard.

I came to say whatever Gary Clark Jr is playing through.

I don't know if it counts, but Ben Harper's tones on Burn to Shine, Diamonds on the Inside, Lifeline, and Both Sides of the Gun are pretty amazing as well. I know he used a Steel String Singer and I believe a Roccaforte paired with it for quite a while.

I got to see Harpers rig up close and personal and it was a Dumble / Roccoforte pair at that time. Marc Ford was with him then and using a 100 watt Roccoforte as well, immense sound.

Pretty sure Left Hand Brand, the Gales bros all blues album, is all mesa tones. There are some great tones on that record.
